Description

Ultimate Upgrade. If you own a boosted or built GT or Cobra and need a clutch that can hold serious torque but hate the "on-off" feel of true race clutches, upgrade to a SPEC Stage 2+. The Stage 2+ is a unique design that blends the superior holding power of the Stage 3 with the street friendliness of the Stage 2, so you don't have to sacrifice street manners but still get a clutch that handles 620 ft-lb of torque without breaking a sweat.



Street And Strip. The SPEC Stage 2+ combines the holding capacity of the Stage 3 clutch with the streetability of the Stage 2, making this clutch perfect for weekend warriors who still want to spend time showing off their high horsepower pony on the street.



Premium Quality. To deliver great holding power without sacrificing driveability, the Stage 2+ features carbon semi-metallic material on one side of the disc with a Kevlar material on the other side. It also features a full face design for smooth engagement for great streetability. The Stage 2+ kit also includes a high clamp pressure plate, new throwout bearing, and an alignment tool for an easy installation. Goes great with a new clutch cable and quadrant to ensure a long life for your new SPEC Clutch.



Application. This SPEC Stage 2+ Clutch is designed for 1986 to mid 2001 Mustang GTs and 1993 to 1998 Mustang Cobras with the T-5 or T-45 transmission.

This Spec Clutch requires the use of a Spec flywheel for proper engagement. AmericanMuscle highly recommends the Steel Flywheel for this Stage 2+ Clutch to avoid warping and optimum results. See the drop down menu option above.

    I just put this in my H/C/I turbo Fox and am loving it so far. I haven't put enough break in miles on it yet, so it hasn't seen full boost. But it's holding way more power than the Centerforce Dual Friction I just took out was. Pedal effort is way easier as well. Only has a hint of chatter once in awhile. Hoping that will go away with some more miles. If not, it's barely noticeable and I could easily live with it.

    Spec stage 2+ clutch

    I have bought a Spec stage 2+ clutch for my 1995 Ford Mustang Cobra as a step up for many upcoming mods that I have lined out for this car. I have used Spec clutches before and have always been very happy. Install was very much an easy swap. Spec products fit prefect, work better, and last longer than any other clutches I have used. Best bang for your buck!

    great clutch

    installed spec stage 2+ in my 1999 mustang gt the clutch is great the only thing is specs throwout bearing is junk throw it away mine is very noisey i would recommend a ford raceing throwout bearing but other then that the clutch is great it chattered alot before the 500 mile break in now after the break in it does not chatter anymore

    Haven't installed clutch,this weekend if weather permits.Clutch is great quality and it comes with the metal bearings not the cheap plastic inserts.More on how insatll went but for now the clutch is the best I have seen.

    Ordered the clutch cause I needed a new one my old was going out loved the deals you guys had one performance clutches this is my first performance clutch and I love it . Stiff to push clutch down but the ride is so smooth and we had it done In like six hours. Thanks American muscle

    Spec stage 2+ clutch

    Very pleased so far, I have 400 miles on the recommeded break in period. Clutch is a bit grabby, just need to rev motor a little more a slip clutch more and it works find.
