More Usable Horsepower. With a JLT Performance Cold Air Intake installed under the hood of your 1996 to 1998 SVT Cobra you will see dyno-proven gains of up to 16 rwhp and 20 rwtq, even more with a custom tune. In addition to an increase in horsepower you will also see an impressive improvement in throttle response.

Fender Well Induction. This JLT Cold Air Intake is designed to draw in cold air from the fender well, rather than the hot engine compartment. To reduce the incoming airs temperature for better combustion resulting in more horsepower.

Money Saving Reusable Filter. This JLT cold air intake kit comes complete with a high flow reusable S&B brand air filter. So that means there is no need to go out and buy a new filter every few thousand miles. Now you can just clean the filter, re-oil it, save money, and go!

Simple Installation. The JLT Performance Cold Air Intake kit was designed to install with just basic hand tools. No special tools are required for a simple 1 hour installation.

Application. This JLT Performance Cold Air Intake System is specifically designed for use on the 1996 to 1998 SVT Cobra Mustangs equipped with the DOHC 4.6L V8 engine and does not require re-tuning the vehicles computer for operation.

Technical note: The 1996-1998 Cobras must remove their strut tower brace and relocate their smog pump in order to install the JLT Cold Air Intake. Instructions on how to perform this relocation are included with the kit.

This intake really looks great and improves throttle response. The one down side is that It does require that you relocate the smog pump so that the MAF adaptor and air filter fit in the fender well. This was easy to do and wouldn't have been a problem except that it bumps out the fender well lining. This also isn't a big deal unless you have 18" rims like I do. Even with low profile tires the tire scrapes when turning hard to the left. If you have 18" rims or bigger just expect to have the tires scrape a bit when turning.

This kit seems to let my '98 Cobra breathe a lot better. It's a good intake, just a complete pain in the butt to install when not all the kit's supplied parts fit where they are supposed to (i.e. kit's MAF adaptor holes didn't line up with the stock airbox studs where you were supposed to reattach it). While a seemingly minor dilemma it actually caused a lot of problems. I would recommend the kit but be prepared to run into some trouble on installation.

Well, let's all be honest, AM is the BEST mustang site on the web! Any questions you have send them an email and get a response in like an hour! That's customer service!
