More Power for Better Performance. Increase the power and performance of your 2018 GT Mustang by upgrading to a Roush Performance Cold Air Intake. This Roush Intake replaces your GT Mustang's restrictive stock air box and paper filter element with a high flow air box and filter assembly for a noticeable increase in horsepower, torque and throttle response.

No Tune Required. This Roush Performance Cold Air Intake is designed to improve the performance of your coyote powered GT without the need of reprogramming your Mustang's computer. By utilizing state of the art computer-aided designs, this Roush Intake will increase power using the factory tune. Even though a re-tune is not required for operation, AmericanMuscle recommends a custom tune to reprogram the vehicles computer (ECU) to get the best possible performance from this intake.

Reusable High Flow Dry Filter. The included Roush High-flow Dry Air Filter provides excellent filtration of harmful particulates. It is composed of two layers of wire mesh for durability and is proven to retain its shape even under high airflow. This dry air filter is washable and does not require oiling, saving you time and money.

Unique Air Box Design. This Roush Cold Air Intake features a CAD-designed roto-molded intake box that draws cooler outside air via the factory cold air duct. While the unique shape of the box improves airflow around the entire filter. A cool feature of this innovative Roush Intake is the clear plastic window that not only adds eye catching under hood appeal, but makes it easy to check the filters condition with just a glance.

Straight Forward Installation. The Roush Performance Cold Air Intake Kit is designed to install easily with just basic hand tools. No extra modifications or special tools are required for proper installation. All necessary parts and instructions are included.

Not CARB Certified. This Roush Cold Air Intake is not CARB certified at this time, therefore it is not legal for use in California or other states adopting California emission standards. Not legal for use on pollution controlled motor vehicles; intended for off road use only.

Application. This Roush Performance Cold Air Intake kit is specially designed to fit the 2018 GT Mustangs equipped with the Coyote 5.0L DOHC V8 engine. No computer retuning required for operation.

Can the sound delete tube be reconnected or does it have to be plugged at the firewall or tube itself? I heard that it is difficult to plug the firewall opening on kits that require it to be done. If required, is a plug provided in the kit?

Will the recommended re-tune void the warranty on my 2018 Mustang GT?

    CW

    • Generally tunes will void the warranty on a vehicle. I would recommend reaching out to the dealership the vehicle was purchased from to confirm what will and won't void the factory warranty.

    • The Roush Cold Air Intake would work well with the Bama Rev-X Tuner by SCT.

its says no tune needed but im not sure if thats true. its that really true. cause i no many errors pop up if you just put in a new intake. will that happen.

    ThomasM

    • The Roush Cold Air Intake would not require a tune for operation, however, would be recommended to run a tune with it.

      Great looking and Performing CAI!

Install was very easy on this CAI. For the guys complaining about the engine cover, C'mon guys, do your homework before you buy and read the installation instructions first (Which Roush has freely available on their website) or watch an install video or two. Should be no surprise that you would either need to trim your engine cover or just don't use it at all... In my case, I'm looking for all the performance I can get so I'm just leaving the heat containing engine cover off! I opted to not use the stock tune compatible MAF insert tube and run this with a performance tune. Could immediately feel the gains with the 'ole butt dyno. Would love to get her on some rollers and see what exactly she is making now. But there IS a big difference combining this Roush CAI with an aftermarket performance tune!!

      Great look great results

Looks awesome under the hood and works great for a non tunable intake. For the people that don’t want to void warrantys on leases this is a great buy for performance and cosmetic value.

      Nice Look, Breathes Better

First, the install directions can be found on https://www.roushperformance.com/. FIT - I gave a 4 since you have to cut your 5.0L engine cover or leave it off entirely. Install time is not bad at all, WORST part is removing the nut securing the induction resonance tube to the firewall wall on the driver side. PATIENCE, PATIENCE, you will get it off with a deep dish 10mm socket and small ratchet. It just takes time. Everything else about the install and instructions are very good. Because of that nut, install start to finish took about two hours. Performance - gave it a 4 since the 2018 version doesn't need a tune at all since the inlet tube diameter remains same as stock air intake. 2015-2017 version has the optional insert to keep the inlet diameter same as stock, or remove the insert, the diameter opens up, more air to the engine and you need a tune. I assume with the 2018 version, the HP increase is less than the 2015-2017 version since the 2015-2017 has the wider inlet diameter increasing air flow. I did get a tune with this one though. Sounds throatier, feels peppier. Since the tune is adaptive and takes a few drive cycles to learn, can't wait for even better performance.

      Super nice

The install was simple and straight forward. I feel like it let's the car breathe a lot more. No power gains, because you know, it's a CAI. And you also lose your engine cover.

Roush Cold Air Intake 2018 Works Great

I'm happy with the purchase, but don't expect too much from natural aspiration even with a CAI. However, there is definitely a power boost. Throttle response is better and the engine breaths better with quicker rev overall. If I had to guess, with a custom tune, I'd say about 20 something HP increase with this intake. Installed it myself in under an hour with a socket wrench and a screwdriver. Roush instructions were very straight forward and everything fit perfectly (as long as you remove the engine cover). If you have the brace, you'll need to remove it to take off the engine cover. I left the engine cover off of mine, but they include a diagram to cut it for the intake to fit (my only complaint, not going to cut my engine cover). P.S. The bolt on the firewall for the resonance tube is a huge pain in the a**. I removed the clamp on the tube by the fender, then plugged what was left of the tube with the delete grommet they sent. Might not be the recommended way, but it works and spared me having to get to that d*mn bolt.
