With a JLT Ram Air Intake installed under the hood of your 1996 to 1998 SVT Cobra you can expect to see average performance gains of up to 16 horsepower and 20 ft-lbs of torque at the rear wheels. In addition to an increase in horsepower you will also see an impressive improvement in throttle response.

Money Saving Reusable Filter. JLT ram air intake kits come complete with a high flow reusable S&B brand air filter. So that means there is no need to go out and buy a new filter every few thousand miles. Now you can just clean the filter, re-oil it, save money, and go!

Easy Installation. The JLT Performance Ram Air Intake kit was designed to install with just basic hand tools. No extra modifications or special tools are required for an easy 1 hour installation.

Application. This JLT Performance Ram Air Intake System is specifically designed for use on the 1996 to 1998 SVT Cobra Mustangs equipped with the DOHC 4.6L V8 engine and does not require re-tuning the vehicles computer for operation.

Technical Note: The factory strut tower brace must be removed from the 1996-1998 Cobras in order to accommodate the JLT RAI. Image shown without heat shield installed.

awesome air intake by jlt install is easy but some of the rubber boots can be hard to put on over the composite intake piece power wise great intake instant difference i also added a bbk 65 throttle body

I got to say you get what you pay for with this product! By far the hardest intake system I've ever installed on any car in my life! Didn't like the fact that I had to lose the sturt bar and that the heat shield didn't fit at all! With that said... It did help my 96 Cobra sound alittle better at idle and alot better at WOT! Don't think I would purchase this intake ever again, wouldn't recommend it to anyone unless you're on a tight budget like me, and I should've saved up for the cold air kit instead! That's why it gets only 2 stars from me!

man, you can hear it sucking in air and really feel the power above 3 grand. installation IS tight. i installed mine in reverse order. i put the filter assembly and heat shield on, then worked up toward the throttle bottle. installation time was about 1 hr.

Well, let's all be honest, AM is the BEST mustang site on the web! Any questions you have send them an email and get a response in like an hour! That's customer service!
