Description
More Usable Horsepower. With a JLT Performance Cold Air Intake installed under the hood of your 1996 to 2004 GT you can expect to see average gains of 8 to 12 more horsepower at the rear wheels across the entire RPM range. In addition to an increase in horsepower you will also see an impressive improvement in throttle response. Fender Well Induction. This JLT Cold Air Intake is designed to draw in cold air from the fender well, rather than the hot engine compartment. Which reduces the incoming air temperature for better combustion resulting in more horsepower.

Money Saving Reusable Filter. This JLT cold air intake kit comes complete with a high flow reusable S&B brand air filter. So that means there is no need to go out and buy a new filter every few thousand miles. Now you can just clean the filter, re-oil it, save money, and go!

Easy Installation. The JLT Performance Cold Air Intake kit was designed to install with just basic hand tools. No extra modifications or special tools are required for an easy 1 hour installation. And with the include tapered reducer it will fit throttle bodies up to 75mm in size.

Application. This JLT Performance Cold Air Intake System is specifically designed for use on the 1996 to 2004 GT Mustangs equipped with the sohc 4.6L V8 engine and does

not require re-tuning the vehicles computer for operation. Does not fit Bullitt Mustangs.

Technical Note: 1996 to 2001 Mustang owners with an IAT sensor will need to drill a ¾” hole using a pnel or spade drill in the bottom side of the inlet pipe and use the supplied rubber grommet to install the sensor into the JLT pipe.

    JLT on an 04GT

    April 05, 2010

Part looks great. Difficult to install without scraping paint on fender hole and oil cap needed to be filed a lil bit at on the bottom edge to prevent rubbing the paint. Also getting the fender elbow on was a pain. Great part tho once installed, felt a big improvement when installed with exhaust.

    JLT CAI

    May 23, 2009

Pain to install which is why I give it a 4 instead of 5. Takes about 4 or 5 iterations of, put in place, check fit, pull out, adjust, rinse, repeat. Cable to mass air sensor just barely reaches its new location. Throttle response feels improved, but no hard data. The wife says it sounds different, but my abused ears couldn\'t pick it up the change. The paint is ridiculously easy to scratch. American Muscle\'s shipping was prompt as always. The kit itself was missing the required bolts. JTL\'s support folks got them to me in a couple of days. Excellent service all around.

    the shit

    May 15, 2009

the intake was huge when i first saw it and quality of product is awesome. Took about an hr. to get fully asemblemed I have slp lm1, bbkx w/ converters, c&l plenum and shortys and it makes the craziest whistle sound from the air and the hp pick up on first and second gear is out of this world. also made my slp\'s sound deeper! every mustang owner needs this.

    JLT True CAI

    April 13, 2009

Definately makes a difference. The install literally took an hr maybe... Great buy and I could tell the difference in HP gain well. I love that JLT makes whatever color you want and the regular one comes black as well. The install was a little bit of a hassle gettin right but didn\'t take a whole lot. Love this product and would reccomend for anyone out there looking for a good CAI!

    PERFECT CAI

    March 13, 2008

The JLT Performance Cold Air Intake was a awesome improvement to my 2001 Mustang GT! I could feel and hear the power right when I got on the throttle! True, it wasn\'t the easiest part to install. But well worth the time!

    not so much

    September 22, 2010

I bought this cold air intake about a year ago. I have had problems ever since. first off the the tubes that make up the system are made of a cheap pvc that bends when you tighten the clamps down. Second the torque of a regular non mortified mustang pulls the system apart within a week. If you are looking for a good system go with a ram air, brands like k&n or Steeda. I wasted $250 on this system and now I have to buy a different one. I believe these other reviews were people who had this system for a couple days, because the first couple days you dont see the flaws. I hope I save some people money with this.

    Simple install.....almost

    February 08, 2010

This is really a nice product!, easy to install accept for one thing, the foam gasket that goes on the filler plate in the quarter panel wall was a f*&^$# nightmare!. It kept coming off while i was trying to put the pipe in the fender wall, and is close to impossible to put back on while the plate is on the pipe. as far as performance goes, its February and I live in Mass. so my car wont see the road for another 2-3 months, but I have faith that it will be fine!. Shipping was lightning fast, I ordered it on a Tuesday afternoon and it was @ my door on Thursday afternoon, way to go A.M.!!!

    Really Terrible Fit & Finish

    October 21, 2011

I didn't have much trouble with the actual install of this intake but the overall fit and finish is really horrible. When I opened the box the first thing I noticed was how FILTHY everything was. Everything was covered in dust and other manufacturing debris. After that I noticed that the piping is basically PVC piping that had been glued together. It looks better than what someone might do in their garage but I expected better for $220. Install took about 45 minutes and was mostly straight forward. The only difficult part is getting the rubber elbow that actually runs the filter outside of the engine bay onto the large PVC piping. It is an extremely tight fit and getting the angle right is difficult. Once installed I have a few creaks and rattles from it that I'm simply going to have to live with. The intake does not have a proper "mount" and uses its size (tight fit) to hold it in place. Being that this intake is probably the largest diameter that I've seen I think it should have some sort of brace or support. Once installed the intake looks ok but if I could do it again I would go with a different intake. Probably Steeda or, if I was set on having the filter outside of the engine bay, the AFE.
