That said, it is advised that you first clean the mounting areas before wiping them down with a clean rag moistened with alcohol or acetone. This is to eliminate any oils and grime that can affect how the adhesive tape works. Moreover, when installing these covers in cold weather, it is advised that you first warm up your handles using a heat gun or hairdryer. This is because the adhesive is more effective on warm surfaces.
