      Video Review & Installation

Justin: If you're looking for an easy way to smoke the tail lights and center section on your 2015 and newer Charger at home, well then you have to check out this three-piece kit that we're talking about here today. Now, this kit will feature a durable polycarbonate build along with that dark, smoked, appearance and will include covers for both the tail lights and the center section for around the low $200 price point.Install's gonna be a pretty simple peel-and-stick job guy, so figure a soft 1/3-wrenches on the difficulty meter. So, it's gonna cost this one a couple of hours to complete from start to finish, which I feel is a bit generous. But regardless, hang with me for a bit and we'll walk you through this job later in the video. All right, so the purpose of this kit is pretty simple, right? Deliver that aggressive dark appearance through a smoked lens. Now, the smoked appearance package or theme, if you will, is as popular as ever and really does add or contribute to a more sinister look when done right. Now, traditionally there are a few different ways you can go about doing this. You can certainly opt for vinyl, but that does get a little bit tricky here due to the shape of the Charger's tail lights and center panel. Now, I'm not even gonna touch on the dye method because I don't even really think people do that anymore, and for good reason, because frankly, it usually ends in disaster. So that leaves the covers that we're talking about here today. And yes, they are certainly the more expensive option, but I feel like the end result will be worth it and will ultimately speak for itself. Now, construction will be that thermoform smoked acrylic here, three pieces in total, to cover the tail lights themselves along with that center panel, which I think is really nice. It contributes to a more consistent look. And, of course, we're talking about that very easy install and removal by the way. So, if you ever do need to pop them off for maybe cleaning, inspection, whatever, it's gonna be very easy to do thanks to the 3M adhesive and Velcro, which by the way is not really possible with those vinyl or tint kits. Now, lots of good reviews here guys, and pictures on the site of these installed on different Chargers at home. So, as always, check those out, read up on some of the reviews before pulling the trigger. But now comes a point in the video where we wanna show you what it takes to get these covers installed on your ride at home. So, without further ado, check out our detailed walkthrough now.Male Speaker: The tools you'll need for this project are some tape, supplied alcohol pads or some rubbing alcohol, and a clean cloth. Hi, everyone. Today, we're installing a set of tail light covers on our Charger, so let's get started. First thing I recommend doing is getting an alcohol pad or a bottle of rubbing alcohol in a clean cloth and just wipe down everything where the adhesive is gonna be sticking on the back of the car. The next thing I recommend is doing a test fit of all the pieces so that you know exactly where they want to go when you go to put them on the car permanently. You can use a piece of tape to hold it in place while you get everything lined up, so you know exactly where everything fits. So, we start with our centerpiece here, and like I said, just put a piece of tape on it to hold it in place while you line everything else up. So, we're not gonna use the adhesion promoter on our vehicle, but we will show you how to actually get it attached to the vehicle now that we've got it all in place. So, we're just gonna remove the red backing from the device and very carefully put it back in so that it's permanently mounted. Now, when you attach this to the car itself, you're gonna want to press pretty firmly on all of the contact points for the tape. We're not gonna do that like I said because we're not making a permanent modification. Now that you've got the centerpiece attached, we'll move to the corners. Now that we've got everything permanently attached, we can go ahead and remove our tape and finish this up. And that wraps up our review and install of our Tail Light Covers with Rear Black Out Panel; Smoked for '15 and newer Charger. Thanks for watching. And remember, for all things Charger, keep it right here at americanmuscle.com.
