Replace A Worn Inner Tie Rod Assembly. If any component in the steering system becomes worn, play will develop, making the steering system less accurate and safe. One such component is the inner tie rod, connecting the steering rack to the outer tie rod, which attaches to the steering knuckle. With any slop in the tie rod, your Charger's steering won't feel nearly as direct. Additionally, movement in the inner tie rod may alter your Charger alignment, leading to premature tire wear. If any of these symptoms are present with your Charger, consider inspecting the steering linkage for play and, if necessary, replace the Steering Tie Rod Assemblies.
