Fine Tunes Vortech FMU’s Rate Of Gain. Vortech’s Fuel Management Units are an effective means of altering fuel pressure across the boost curve, stabilizing the air/fuel ratio throughout the entire RPM range for a safe and efficient powerband. However, Vortech FMUs come equipped with a fixed rate of gain limited to an integer, such as 6:1 or 7:1. Not all applications respond well to Vortech’s preset values; however, the ideal rate of gain may lie between two values, such as 6.5:1. This small, brass, mechanical valve mounts to the boost reference port and allows you to bleed off a small amount of air pressure, thus fine-tuning the rate of gain by up to one point.
