      Description

      Replace a Defective Thermostat. Your Charger’s thermostat is an essential cooling system component, regulating coolant flow and engine temperature. The thermostat is placed at the coolant inlet on your Charger’s engine, remaining closed until the cooling system reaches a specified pressure/temperature. Once this temperature is reached, the thermostat’s internal spring is overpowered, causing the thermostat to open and allowing the engine coolant to flow from the radiator, through the engine block, and back to the radiator to be cooled. If your thermostat is defective, replace it with this quality Charger 203 Degree Coolant Thermostat.

      Prevent Engine Damage. When a thermostat fails, it will either stick shut or open, with both causing its respective issues. A thermostat failing in the open position will cause your Charger to warm up to operating temperatures extremely slowly, reducing efficiency and harming gas mileage. However, when a thermostat fails in the closed position, coolant cannot circulate through the engine block, often causing the engine to overheat and become damaged. In either circumstance, a failed thermostat must be replaced to regain the proper functionality of your Charger’s coolant system.
