Features
- The Planted Side Mount is an L-shaped bracket sold in pairs (left and right) used to install side mount seats.
- Side mount seats have the mounting holes on the side of the seat rather than the bottom, so a side mount or similar product is required for installation.
- The Planted Aluminum Offset Universal Side Mount is made from 1/4-inch thick aluminum, which complies with FIA's required thickness, weighs approximately 3.5 lbs, and is powder coated.
- These fit side mount seats offered by most seat manufacturers and have been tested on Bride, Corbeau, Cobra, Momo, NRG, OMP, Ractech, Recaro, Sabelt, Sparco, Status Racing, and Takata seats.
- The wider slots allow compatibility with most other seat manufacturers as well, though not all have been tested.
- The side mounts bolt directly to sliders but have multiple slots for adjustability when direct mounting without sliders.
- Planted offers two types of side mounts: 90-degree and offset, both available in aluminum or steel.
- 90-degree side mounts are most common and should be used when the slider width is narrower than the seat width, allowing the sliders to sit under the seat.
- Offset side mounts are used when the slider width is equal to or wider than the seat width.
- Either 90-degree or offset side mounts can be used for direct mounting without sliders; however, 90-degree mounts are recommended because the assembly is narrower, providing more side-to-side adjustability.
- Sold as a left and right pair for one seat.
