Jake: Jake here for American Muscle, and in this video, we're taking a look at the C&L Super Sport cross-drilled and slotted front rotors fitting various different Charger models. Wanted to take a moment before we dive in here to acknowledge that these rotors fit a lot of different models and years of Chargers. It's all spelled out on the website for you though, so just make sure you double check that info before you buy. No matter what you're doing with your Charger, be it daily driving, racing, or something else entirely, having more braking power at your disposal is always a good thing. These drilled and slotted rotors from C&L are going to provide you with performance brake stopping power without the typical performance brake price tag. Cross-drilled and slotted rotors like these make for an excellent upgrade versus your standard solid rotors, and that is mostly due to heat dissipation. Heat is the enemy of braking performance, and these holes and channels on the faces of the rotor are primarily there to help get heat away from the pads and the face of the rotor itself. So when you apply the brakes, friction and heat build up on the pads and the faces of the rotors. The channels here help direct that out, while the holes allow for heat to escape through these big central vanes. So all that heat has plenty of places through which to escape, and it gets all of it off the faces of the rotors and away from the pads as much as possible. Getting rid of that heat is going to help stave off brake fade, which is going to provide you with stronger, more consistent stopping power. So if you're hauling a bunch of people and stuff, hustling down a mountain road, hitting the track, or even just sitting in traffic, repeated stops and brake applications aren't going to affect the performance as much as it would with your stock rotors. So you're going to have much shorter, more consistent stops from higher speeds. The other thing too about these vanes on the faces of the rotors is that these are also going to help get moisture off of them. So if you're driving in the rain or the snow or anything like that, this is going to provide an avenue for which that stuff can escape. Again, getting it off the face of the rotors, so you're not going to have that really gut-wrenching moment when you hit the brakes after you've been driving in the rain for a while and you feel like it's not doing anything. These are going to help counteract that. Now it is worth noting here that again, these are only the front rotors. We do have a matching set of rear rotors, and I would highly recommend picking those up to get a match set front and rear. C&L also offers matching pads for these, which we do have on our website as well. So if you want a really refreshed braking system with even better performance, make sure you check those out too. The rotors are constructed using CNC machined premium cast iron. So they're actually kind of similar to your standard OEM brakes. These are also perfectly mill balanced. That's going to help prevent against vibration, noise and uneven wear. And as you can see, they've got this bright zinc electroplating over top of them as well. That's going to help prevent against rust and corrosion for a long time to come. So they should look good and perform well for a while. However, the cast iron construction means that the price is going to stay low. Pricing for the set here is going to come in at just about $200, and that makes them pretty much the least expensive set of drilled and slotted front rotors for these Chargers. Now, upgrading to a set like these is going to cost you a little bit more than just your standard blank rotors. However, you're getting more performance out of them. So if you're wanting some extra performance out of your brakes, you're willing to spend a little bit more, these are a great way to make that happen without blowing out the budget for your build. Installation will get a two out of three on our difficulty meter and should take you about three hours to complete the job. Now, brakes are pretty straightforward to do, especially if you've done them before. They're just a little time consuming and of course, you're going to have to remove your calipers to get these installed. Regardless, this is definitely a job you can accomplish at home. And to show you how to get it done now, let's hand things over to one of our AM customers.Man: Hey everybody, this is my 2019 Dodge Charger GT and today we're going to be installing some front rotors. The C&L Super Sport cross-drilled and slotted rotors to be exact. Take a look at the rotors, here's what they look like. And without further ado, let's get into it. Okay guys, this is my passenger side rotor. As you can tell, it's in pretty bad shape and probably should have been changed a long time ago. But that's what we're going to be doing today is showing you guys how to change them. So the first thing you want to do is turn your steering wheel to the left. This is going to give you more room to access the bolts behind it. All right, once you turn your steering wheel to the left you want to come back here and loosen that bolt right there. Next, what you wanna do, you wanna get your half wrench and your adjustable wrench, put it on this bolt right here and put it on this middle piece right here. This is going to stop the middle piece from spinning while you're taking your bolt off. Next what you want to do, you wanna lift this up and it's going to slide right out just like that. All right. What you're going to do next, you're going to come back here and come to this bolt right here. You're going to get your mini ratchet with your 10 millimeter on it. You're going to take this bolt out so it'll remove all this and give you more access to get to this bolt and this bolt right here. Okay, we have our mini ratchet with our 10 millimeter socket on it, and we're just going to loosen this bolt right here. And just like that, you have more room. Next, you want to get your impact and loosen this bolt and this bolt right here. And just like that, this whole thing will remove. Okay, after you remove your brake bracket, you want to just pull your old rotor off and install your brand new rotor. Now me personally, I like to put one of my lug nuts on, on each side just to hold it in place so I can install my brake bracket back. Get two of them and tighten it down on each side. All right, once you do that, get your bracket. Align it in place. Get your bolt and hand tighten them for the time being. All right, once you do that get your impact and tighten them down. Slide it back in like so. Close it down and get your bolt. Reinstall it. Get your adjustable wrench, put it right here so it don't spin. Get your half wrench and tighten it. Don't forget to get your little screw and come back up here and put your bracket back. Tighten it by hand. Then get your mini ratchet with your 10 millimeter and tighten. Once you tighten your bracket down, this should be the finished product right here. I'm gonna do the driver side and y'all see the completion of this install. Okay, I just finished up the driver's side and this is the afterlook.Jake: That's gonna wrap it up here for our review and install of the C&L Super Sport cross-drilled and slotted front rotors, fitting various different models and the years of Charger. Thanks so much for watching, and as always, for all things Charger, be sure to keep it right here at americanmuscle.com.

      Description

Increased Braking Performance. Greatly improve the braking performance of your Dual Piston Front Caliper equipped 2009-2023 Dodge Charger by installing a pair of C&L Super Sport Cross-Drilled and Slotted Front Rotors. These C&L Performance brake rotors are far superior to the stock Dodge rotors to greatly enhance the stopping power of your factory installed braking system.

Cross-Drilled and Slotted. C&L Performance Super Sport Rotors feature a cross-drilled and slotted design that helps to reduce brake fade by allowing hot gasses to easily escape through the vented holes. The slotted design will sweep away dust, water and debris to keep the surface of your brake pads cleaner for reliable bite every time you hit the pedal.

Cooling Vane Design. Unlike solid aftermarket brake rotors, these C&L Performance Super Sport Rotors feature a vented vane design with an internal chamber structure. These vented vanes will allow hot gasses to escape easier to further improve the cooling performance of your brakes. Faster heat dissipation in turn will greatly increase your Charger's braking performance.

Superior Construction. C&L Performance manufactures its one-piece Brake Rotors from premium-grade cast iron castings. CNC machined, these Rotors are perfectly mill-balanced to prevent vibration, noise, and uneven wear. C&L Performance then completes their rotors in a bright zinc electroplating treatment to provide good looks and protection against rust.

Direct Fit Replacement Upgrade. C&L Performance designed its Cross-Drilled and Slotted Rotors to be a direct fit replacement upgrade for your Charger's stock rotors. Installation can normally be completed in under 3 hours with just basic hand tools using the existing calipers and hardware.

Application. These C&L Super Sport Cross-Drilled and Slotted Rotors; Front Pair are designed to fit 2006-2014 Charger Pursuit; 2006-2023 Charger AWD SE, AWD SXT, Daytona, Daytona R/T, GT and R/T with Dual Piston Front Calipers; 2011-2013 5.7L HEMI Charger SE.
