How to Install Raxiom Reverse Light LED on your 2015+ Mustang

Step 1

To begin, pop your truck and remove the plastic liner by removing the four screws holding it to the back of the trunk. Once those are removed, pull straight up and out to remove the plastic liner. Set the liner aside. Remove the truck liner and set it aside as well. 

Step 2

Next, remove the plastic locking screws from the factory liner to access the tail light.

Step 3

Install the rst 4th Brake connector by unclipping the factory tail light connector, and installing the new one inline. Then, run the other 4th Brake connector to the opposite side, and install inline as well.

Step 4

After that, run the remaining red wire outside ofthe vehicle using the existing grommet located at the bottom of the trunk. Simply push the grommet to the side slightly and push the wire through until there is no slack.

Step 5

From underneath the vehicle, unplug the back-up light bulb by turning counter clockwise and pulling straight out. Next, remove the bulb holder bydepressing the tab. 

Step 6

Looking at the front of the connector, use the included screwdriver to push the green rubber sealout of the center socket.

Step 7

From the back of the connector, take the terminal on the end of the red wire, and insert it into the empty middle socket. The terminal should click into place(see diagram below).

Step 8

Looking at the bulb holder, remove the factory bulb and plug in your new Diode Dynamics bulb.

Step 9

After that, plug the bulb holder back into the female socket and replace the backup bulb unit. Finally, secure all the wires, replace the original panels, and ensure they are fastened down using the original screws.
