Increases Spark Energy for More Power. Are you running a supercharger, turbocharger or a nitrous setup on your Coyote powered GT Mustang? If so, then you should seriously consider upgrading to a set of Granatelli Motor Sports (GMS) Pro Series Extreme Coils. The stock OE coils are weak by comparison and are prone to spark blowout under forced induction. Where the GMS Extreme Coils produce an amazing 65,000 volts, that's 45,000 more volts than the factory coils, which results in more power, better throttle response and no chance of spark blowout. This GMS Coil Kit will add up to 12HP on naturally aspirated Mustangs and an impressive 25HP on turbo or supercharger setups.

Better Fuel Economy. GMS Pro Series Extreme Coils not only improve the rear wheel power of your GT, but they also improve its fuel economy as well. After installation Coyote owners have reported up to a 10% increase in gas mileage. Because of the higher voltage of these Extreme Coils your spark plugs will produce a hotter spark. This hotter spark will burn the air/fuel mixture more completely releasing all of its potential energy which translates into better fuel economy and more power.

0 ohm Technology. Granatelli Motor Sports proudly manufactures their Pro Series Extreme Coil Packs right here in the USA. Featuring patented “0” ohm technology GMS Coils use a silicone magnetic steel core that not only improves spark power, but has 0 ohms of resistance so all the spark energy of the coil transfers to the spark plug. This patented design also suppresses Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) and Electro Magnetic Interference (EMI) to effectively shield your Mustangs sensitive electronic components from interference.

Application. This set of eight Granatelli Motor Sports 4-Valve Pro Series Extreme Coil Packs are designed as a direct fit performance upgrade for the 2011 to 2014 GT and Boss 302 Mustangs equipped with the Coyote 5.0L 4 valve V8 engine.

Hello, quick question. Would these coils work with my GT500? If so, how beneficial would it be. Thanks

Jacob

  • Hello! The GMS Pro Series Extreme Coil Pack will not fit a GT500.

I have a 15 GT. W/ Roush 2.3 SC , 331 gears, stage 4 clutch, aluminum fly wheel, 800hp axles and a custom tune installed by Shelby performance. Car tested rwhp at 644hp 590 torque. Will I need to have my tune flashed after install? I'm at the track once a month and Shelby "here in Vegas"can sometimes have a waiting period to get in.

Disappointed

  • These coil packs will not require you to need a new tune when you install them in your vehicle.

I have a 13 Mustang GT and I'm running the Bama 93 octane Race tune. Is there any chance that these high voltage coils could burn a piston when using the Bama 93 octane race tune? When I go to "Car Gatherings" I put the Bama Ghost tune in (which is my 93 octane race tune with a Ghost tune overlay). I heard Ghost tunes make that awesome sound by "washing" the cylinders with more fuel than it can burn. I would "assume" then that it would NOT be a good idea to run these high voltage coil packs with a Ghost tune. Can you confirm this? Lastly, since I mentioned the Ghost tune, I haven't pulled the plugs yet to look at them but do Ghost tunes eventually foul out the plugs?

PandaRacing

  • Hi,This GMS Pro Series Extreme Coil Pack will not interfere with your Ghost Cam tune, because the ghost cam happens during idle and not while driving, and the ghost cam is made using variable valve timing to make the lob sound no extra fuel is added to the cylinder.

Expensive but worth it to me.

Install took about an hour, but took my time and cleaned the coil pack covers in the process. Started up and noticed a mis-fire on passenger side bank after fast idle. At this point it tripped the code. Waited for it to cool down and swapped first two and last two cylinders. Started up and there was no mis-fire, took it for a test drive and seemed good. Went to take it into the dealer next morning to have code reset. Low and behold the mis-fire was back. Dealer checked and found all cylinders were randomly misfiring. Called GMS and they said bad sets do happen and go through AM for return/new set. Called AM and received prompt service and new set. Let dealer install new set as I didn't feel like having the problem again (just encase). As for gas mileage, don't know yet. As for performance, can't tell if idles smoother due to track key, I can feel a difference 3K and above, revs smoother and easier.
