roush axel back exhaust do you need to buy vallance?

    • I just installed these on my car last night (2011 GT) with the GT stock valance. The square tips do not touch the stock GT valance at all HOWEVER, beware that the square tips (which can easily be switched with round tips if you like) look pretty stupid on the stock GT valance. If you want that square exhaust look, get the Roush Valance.

      Awesome Sound!!!

First time installing an axel back. Only took about 2 hours as I had a problem with the the factory part. Should only take about an hour. But once I got the factory off it took no time at all and all parts were supplied. Excellent sound and worth every penny!!!

      Best exhaust in my opinion.

I was looking for an exhaust that was quiet at cruising speeds and loud at WOT. This axle back delivered perfectly. There is no drone or in cockpit boom. It can be loud during the first 10-15 seconds of cold start but after that it really mellows out. Has a nice rumble to it however it has more of a rasp than deep tone when punching it. It took me months to decide on an exhaust and I'm glad I chose this one. I get nothing but compliments and head turns every where I go. To give you the best idea of noise, its definitely louder than a Flowmaster, but quieter than a Magnaflow.

      Great Muscle Car Sound

These mufflers give you the muscle car sound without the rasp like a lot of other mufflers. At low rpms they sound pretty qhurt like when your cruising but as soon as you get on it they're really loud and sound fantastic. The square tips look fantastic as well. I would definitely recommend them.

      Perfect Sound for a 5.0

This came factory on my stage 2 Roush. There is no better sound for the new 5.0. Can be a little harsh for the neighbors on a cold morning, but oh well, you obviously are leaving anyway :) After the pipes warm up, it is actually very mellow at idle and has a kind of bubble to it. Doesn't take much throttle at all to let people know whats going on under the hood though, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I will have to try to get a good video for you all.

      Awesome Sound Easy install!

The exhaust arrived very well packaged. It didn't take me long to install the exhaust, all i had to do was unbolt the stock axle back as well as the hangers and bolt on everything with the Roush Exhaust and I was done! The fitment was fine you just need to make sure the tips match with the shape of the bumper when you are installing it. The difference in tone and loudness is huge! (in a good way) The one thing i do like is when you are idling low it is a little quiet but once you start to accelerate it wakes up!

Great Sounding Exhaust and Quiet When You Want it to Be

This exhaust sounds amazing for only being an axle back. Nice and quiet while at cruising speeds or through the neighborhood but comes to life when you put the hammer down. After about 6 months or so there is some rust near the welds/seams of the muffler portion. Mine came on my 2011 Roush Mustang but I have installed another Roush axle back on a friends 2012 and install was a piece of cake.

THE SOUND IS AMAZING AND THE SQUAR TIPS REFINE THE LOOK

The whole kit came well packaged and all parts protected in a plastic cover or foam. The instructions were a little hard to read due to a copy of many copies. I would suggest to download the pdf version off of Roush Performance website. The removal and installation took about and hour. The installation was staight foward. Make sure you have a lot of break free avalible (THIS IS A MUST). The first time startiing her up she sounded AMAZING. I did notice that at idle it would fluctuate randomly. NOTE: The ECM needs to be reset and it needs to re-learn how to idle. See forums and owners manual. The sound from the Roush exhaust is amazing!!!! The noise in the cabin increases but this make your MUSTANG sound like a TRUE MUSCLE CAR!!! I can deal with that any day!
