What's going on, guys? Adam here with AmericanMuscle.com and today I'm bringing you my review of the Hood Vent Mounted Turn Signal Indicators with red LEDs fitting all '15, '16 GT Mustangs. If you're a '15, '16 GT owner out there and you're a big fan of the '67, '68 retro styling and the S550 California Special styling of the hood vent mounted turn signals, these might be a great fit for you. It can give that retro styling to your hood with a unique twist of the red LEDs to be a little bit different than those stock ambers. These hood vent mounted turn signal indicators are meant to be fully functional, so they will work in sequence with your hazard lights, your stock turn signals, and when you're locking and unlocking your car.So as I mentioned before, these are offered in a diffused red LED lamp styling. So if you're looking for the amber lights to match your stock turn signals, you might want to check out the other options on the site because there is amber options available. Now with that said, there is another option on the site from Raxiom. Now the Raxiom is supposed to be a plug and play option, whereas this one slides into place and is held on by 3M automotive bonding tape that does require some splicing. In addition to the splicing, you'll have to run the supply battery cable to the battery for power. Now if you're looking for a plug and play option, you might want to look into the Raxiom one.So this kit I have here comes in at just about the $130 mark, but for just $20 more at $150 you can pick up the Raxiom kit, save yourself all the splicing and wiring, plus you'll pick up a two year warranty as well which can save you in the long run.Now the installation for this kit can be a bit confusing, but it does come with a few pages of instructions that help you out in the process. If you do decide to take this route, it should give you a walkthrough of the splicing and wiring process, as well as how to secure the wiring under the hood insulation. Now the tools required for this installation are pretty straightforward. I'd recommend having a flathead and a phillips head screwdriver on hand as well as a socket set and ratchet, maybe even a set of pliers, as well. Start to finish, you'll be looking at about two hours for the installation, depending on how new you are to splicing. I definitely give it a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty scale because it is an installation anybody can do in their driveway just by following directions.Just to quickly wrap things up, guys, if you're a '15, '16 GT owner out there and you're looking for the nostalgic 60's style fastback or the new S550 California special look, these hood mount turn signals may be for you you and you can get yours right here at AmericanMuscle.com.

Cool retro look!
Really looks cool. Found out they put these on the 2015 Mustang GT as a throw back. I have a 2017 Mustang GT Premium and it didn't have the turn signals in the hood. I remember the 67's had them and always thought they were cool. Like the Red Line Hood struts they're a gotta have. Install was easy except the wheel well thing. I suggest taking the time to jack it up and take the wheels off. Makes it a lot easier.Helpful (3)

I like them make your car stick out a little bit more when unlocking and locking your car, It allows trucks to the side of you on the road To see that you're changing lanes. Because anybody with SUV or truck can see your red light, Because trucks are tall.Helpful (4)

Not for hoods with stock turn signals
We have a 16 pp tp gt with stock amber turn signals in the hood no where in description does it say it's not compatible with these. I made it work though cause I really wanted the red lights.Helpful (6)

makes the hood look even better at night
These lights really make the hood vents look cool, without blocking the entire vent like some other kits. I rated only 4 stars because my kit had packaging issues that made the install more challenging - it was missing zip ties, the adhesive backings (the lights were actually stuck together and I had to pry apart), and the adhesive prep pads. Also both lights/wires were mislabeled (right vs left). Nothing a little super glue and ingenuity couldn't fix though. I was surprised as this is the first time AM sent me something in this fashion. I suggest folks have zip ties and adhesive handy prior to ordering (just in case) and also test the fitment of the lights in the vents rather than trust how they are labeled prior to install.Helpful (5)
I have a Cervinis Stalker hood that has hood vents, will this work with the vents that come with that? Will they work with pretty much any vent?
These are intended to be used only on 2015-2017 GT Mustangs with factory or Roush Performance heat extractors.
What are the dimensions of the light bars?
The light bars are approximately 4" x 1.5" x 1" (L x W x H).
I have a 19 ecoboost why does it say this wont fit, my hood is the same as the one featured.
The 2018-2019 Mustangs have wider hood vents than the 2015-2017 Mustangs.
Will these work with existing hood vent light wiring/connectors on 2016 performance pack?
The Axial Hood Mount Turn Signal Kit is designed for Mustangs that did not come equipped with hood vent turn signals from the factory. Modifications would be required to work properly on vehicles equipped with stock hood vent turn signals.
Could you turn this into a shift light?
We have not attempted using These as a shift light. Depending on the power source these could be used as a shift light, however most shift light setups will not provide enough power to light these.
These lights have been tested and used in numerous performance applications that are still holding up against all the conditions it has been put through. As long as the lights are installed with the provided 3M adhesive correctly, you should have no issues with the unit coming loose from its position.
The Axial Hood Mount Turn Signal Kit will block some of the flow from the vent. If you have any other questions feel free to call or chat in.
It is highly recommended to use the Axial Hood Mount Turn Signal Kit as a turn signal kit only, as they are not designed for constant usage. This will lead to premature failure, and may, depending on local laws, be illegal in your area.
