Increases Overall Performance. Add even more horsepower and torque to the rear wheels of your 3.7L V6 Pony by eliminating those power robbing catalytic converters with a BBK Off-road X-Pipe. A BBK off-road X-Pipe will significantly improve your pony's exhaust flow to increase overall performance.

Race Car Growl. This free flowing BBK x-pipe for the 3.7L V6 Mustangs not only increases power, but it also adds a crisp raspy, race car growl to the sound of your exhaust with its modern "X" crossover pipe design.

Durable Construction. BBK's X-Pipes use a free-flowing 2-1/2" diameter CNC mandrel bent aluminized steel tubing and a merged X crossover to improve flow. It also features OEM style hangers that attach in the stock locations for a perfect fit.

Application. This BBK Performance Off-road X-Pipe is designed to be a direct bolt-on for the 2011-2014 3.7L V6 Mustangs with either aftermarket short tube headers or the factory manifolds installed. Intended for off-road, track use only, does not include catalytic converters.

Please Note. Stock 2011 V6 Mustangs come stock with a Mid Pipe that resembles both the H-Pipe and X-Pipe designs. This hybrid Mid Pipe was created by Ford to help add additional power and sound to the V6 straight out of the factory. This BBK aftermarket X-Pipe will further help you reach maximum air-flow equaling additional power.

Technical Note: This BBK product is intended for off road use, and is not legal for use in emission restrictive states.

Would MPT tune work to turn off the O2 sensor problem?

    AlexS

    • Tunes from MPT can disable rear o2 sensors from triggering a check engine light. If you have or plan to use this BBK Off-Road X-Pipe, we would highly recommend a custom tune to disable the rear sensors.

Hello, Does this pipe have a warranty? Thank you

    • Yes, this x-pipe does come with BBK's one year warranty against manufacturer defects.

How much horsepower do the pipes set up give? With and without tune?

    Faviano1

    • The BBK Off-Road X-Pipe will produce gains of approximately 10-12hp.

Will I need to do anything special to install these considering I have aftermarket axle backs?

    RyanS

    • The BBK O/R X-Pipe will fit any 11-14 V6 with stock manifolds or shorty headers. Being these don't connect directly to the axle-back, you shouldn't have any fitment issues regardless of which axle-back exhaust you have. With that being said, being this is a O/R X-Pipe, we usually recommend a tune as deleting the catalytic converters generally causes a check engine light to be thrown.

Would it be possible to install this with the stock down pipes and cats. In other words could i bolt the x part on to the stock cats/downpipes?

    Tom

    • The BBK Off-Road X-Pipe may not be a direct fit as they were designed to be used as a full kit only.

What is the long term effect on the vehicle while riding with no cats???

    KennethJ

    • With a proper tune, the BBK Off-Road X-Pipe will not cause any damage. Without a tune, this could indeed cause serious damage if used for a long period of time.

      Loud, but super raspy

Loud, but super raspy after 3.2K RPM. Fit was pretty straight forward, make sure you have a lot of Free-All and a long extension for the mid-pipe

Loud and raspy, especially with Borla.

Amazing sound especially with the Borla ATAK catback exhaust. From a cold start it’s pretty d*mn loud, but not too horrible for neighbors to complain. As for giving it gas/throttle, definitely a lot louder and recommend idling out of apartments when first installed late at night. It only took me a week to get used to it and it doesn’t bother me, but when you get to tunnels or cars around you with the exhaust echoing, it sounds pretty nice. Definitely do not recommend speeding at night bc the cops will hear it from farther distances. You will need a tune to delete O2 sensors to prevent engine light. As for installing would recommend lift, but can be done with jacks making it a little harder for movement. All being said, this will definitely give you a louder sound with a deeper tone and will catch people attention in a good way, or scare some people lol. For $250 you can’t beat it. Do NOT get this if you live in Illinois/California since they’re illegal to delete cats, let alone would get you pulled over faster. I’m in Kentucky and have no problems with cops, or emissions testing.

      Loud n' raspy

This is an awesome x pipe if you want your car to be loud and raspy. It keeps the 6 cylinder sound (not trying to sound like an 8) while still sounding good. I have it paired with bbk shorty headers and a gt500 custom muffler setup and I love it! Would recommend

I’m a fan of loud cars, but not ricer loud. I daily drive mine paired with BBK shorty chrome headers and a Flowmaster Force 2 axleback. Sounds amazing!

Great product, but with a few flaws

Loved the pipes at firat, then my car started throwing engine codes even after I had it re-tuned. And to top everything off I got stopped by cops 2 times within 24 hours for noise violations. Had to put the stock pipes back on.

      Insane sound!

To start off the sound is crazy. I have this paired with a set of roush axlebacks and it is around 3 times louder id guess. Turns heads everywhere. I can't stress enough that if you think it may be too loud for you it probably is. Also will need a tune for having the cats taken off.

      Raspy Obnoxious tone.

The bbk off-road xpipe should be used for track purposes only. Really bad drone and bad tone. Do not put this on your car if it is your daily driver.

Performance you can feel... but at a cost

The bbk offroad x pipe made my mustang feel much more smooth in the mid and high range of the power band. The installation took about 15 minutes (granted I have a lift and air tools) and the clamps provided are a breeze to work with. Mandrel bent 2.5" piping from the headers to the over axle pipe, it really woke up my mustang. However, the con, and the most notIcable con, At 25-2700 rpm, you're running into such loud rasp. Now I get it - you bought an offroad x pipe for the performance gains and it obviously doesn't have a cat or resonators. But the rasp is so unbearable I contemplated pulling back into the shop multiple times and removing them. I decided to give resonators a shot so I got some 17 inch Jones glasspacks and put them into my over axle pipes, it moved the rasp up to about 3600rpm, which is okay for daily driving since who shifts that high anyway. So all in all, I don't think I'd recommend this to be honest. The pipe is nothing special - it's two pipes with an x pipe in the middle. You could take off your stock exhaust and replicate it just like bbk did for about 60$ or you could bring it to an exhaust shop and they'd do it for around 140. The sound is completely unbearable, if you think I'm lying then YouTube it before you commit. It's awful, and anyone ever talks about is the rasp. You will turn your already questionable 6 cylinder mustang into the laughing stock of the road. But if that's worth the power in the mid and high range go for it!

      Car sounds mean!

This x pipe will really wake up your pony. As soon as it was installed I started her up and it sounded like a completely different car. I originally had it paired with the flow master force 2 axel backs, but I decided to swap them out with the roush axel back because they sounded too raspy for me. The roush axel backs sound amazing with the x pipe and it really adds some power to pretty much the entire RPM range. My 0-60 times went from 5.7 to 5.5 seconds and when you punch it you can definitely feel the difference. All in all I'd say this was one of my favorite mods that I've done to my car so far.

      Great Sound and quality!!

The sound it make for a V6 is great. I was approached a few days ago and a guy asked if I had removed my GT logos because he thought it was a GT because of the exhaust note and loudness. Great piece!! Easy install with a lift.

      2011 v6 mustang

Well I can't tell you how disappointed I am with these x-pipes. I have a roush cold air, Bbk shortly headers and roush axle back exhaust, sounded good and put these offroad x-pipes on and holly Jesus my car sounds obnoxious and loud inside and out of the car, I felt bad for people next to me to have to listen to it. Stock ones going back on, any body want to buy some offroad x-pipes!!!!! Not even going to drive it till I get it fixed!

      LOUD. RASPY

I got the box in somewhat rough shape, no big deal. The box was missing the antisieze paste for the O2 sensors, again no big deal. Install was a breeze. I had the car on a jack, not 1 foot off the ground and finished it within 2 hours. It is LOUD. I have Flowmaster Outlaw axlebacks, which doesn't help the volume. Idling-2,800rpm sounds beefy, the rest sounds RASPY. I am talking V-TEC with open headers kinda raspy. However, it sounds like Jack Daniels mixed with Jager, mixed with maybe a 4.6, mixed with a V-TEC and Vaughn Gittin Jr driving it. It definitely doesn't sound bad. It's fantastic when you're driving in the city to rev at pedestrians and they drop their s**t and jump 4 feet off the ground. All in all, I believe putting a GT resonator on will make it sound perfect, but do not buy this xpipe and complain that it is loud. You've been warned.
