Improve Horsepower And Torque. The Kooks Long Tube Header and Catted Shorty X-pipe combo kit for the manual 2005 to 2010 GT Mustangs will balance out the exhaust pressure to increase flow over the restrictive factory exhaust system resulting in more horsepower, torque, and better throttle response.

Quality Construction. Manufactured from 1-5/8" mandrel bent 304 stainless steel tubing Kooks Long Tube Headers are TIG welded for strength, and feature a leak-free ball flange design to fit perfectly into the included 2.5" diameter 304 stainless steel Shorty X-pipe for excellent exhaust flow and performance.

Recommended Upgrade. To realize the full power potential that this Header and X-pipe combo kit has to offer, AmericanMuscle recommends a custom tune with a Mustang Handheld Tuner to reprogram the vehicles computer (ECU) for proper operation.

Application. This Kooks Header and matching catted X-pipe combo kit is designed specifically for the 2005 to 2010 4.6L GT and Bullitt Mustangs equipped with a manual transmission. Includes gaskets and 02 extensions.

            Amazing sound, amazing performance

It has only been a few days but the difference is night and day. At idle, the change is subtle. When you lay on it boy does it wake up. It tough to judge the gains as I had gears done at the same time but overall I'm more than pleased with the outcome. Highly recommend.

Went from O/R x pipe to these

It's obviously quieter than an "off-road" setup but it still has a great deep tone and made my car legal in VA. Went with Kooks for the fitment and quality of the pipes, great sounding setup.

            Oh my goodness

I love my kooks and the performance gain is second to none. I running TB, cams, cai and 93 octane tune and I must say I’m in love. I know the kooks are a bit pricey but it’s worth, so worth. My car runs smooth and sound great. Deep nice tone and no raspy sound in the cabin. This is a must get. Thanks AM.

            Great Product

Only got them installed this weekend after purchasing almost a year ago. The install took approximately 10 hours using jack and stands but this was my first time doing a fairly significant install. Be aware the driver side header especially does not offer much room to install and tighten the bolts 2 bolts took over a half hour to tighten. You will require various different wrenches and ratchets with different length handles and extensions (good quality tools recommended). There is not a significant volume increase but the exhaust not is much deeper when paired with my Magnflow cat back. I also paired these with a Bama performance tune so I do notice a slight difference in power. I have not had the car on a dyno so can not give actual numbers. Would definitely recommend especially for those who want to try nd keep a street legal car with cats.

            Now sounds like a beast

I read enough to not try the install myself since I don't have a lift. So I had a shop install them. I was really surprised at how much louder my car was vs. stock. I have put headers on a few cars I've owned and these made the biggest difference in sound by far. I really wasn't going for the loud, but it's not too bad as long as you aren't into the throttle too much. I had put on a supercharger a year or so ago and wanted the headers so things could breath better. I did run into an issue that isn't completely resolved yet. The clearance on the driver side cat is very minimal. When I first picked up the car after the install, the cat was hitting on the driver side both on the floorboard and the O2 sensor was hitting the transmission mount. After some wrestling and minor grinding by the shop, the driver side cat clears the floorboard (barely) and the O2 sensor no longer hits. But after the exhaust heats up after 20 minutes or more of driving, the driver side cat hits the floorboard occasionally when accelerating causing a bunch of noise. I may need to take it to an exhaust shop to tweak a bend to give me some clearance? Overall, I'm very happy with them. Although I need to get the clearance issue resolved.

            Long tubes

Great ad on for my Roush mustang, installation was completed with 4 tall jack stands I did not have to remove the motor mounts or k member. I did throw out the supplied mounting bolts for a good set of headlock locking header bolts. Also a good selection of hand tools will make install a lot easier..

            Great product

After many hours of research on multiple headers and mid-pipes, I finally decided to go with Kooks. I was a little weary of buying the Kooks as they are the most expensive out of any others, however, the quality of the material, as well as the quality of the sound, simply cannot be beaten. Getting these headers to fit onto the engine was a bit of a pain. The lower header bolts become very hard to get to when the new headers are put on. If you find yourself purchasing this great product, I would HIGHLY recommend removing the K-member as it will allow you to get your hands directly underneath the headers instead of having to go from the side like I did. It took my father and I around 9 hours from start to finish while using a lift. Nontheless, these headers are amazing and give you an amazing sound that is sure to turn heads going down the road.

            Can't go wrong with kooks

Purchased these for my 08 GT and the sound is phenomenal. Such a night and day difference between stock manifold. My mechanic said they were the best fitment and quality headers he has installed ever. The x-pipe does give a very raspy tone so if you don't like that type of tone I would say get the headers and go for the kooks h-pipe instead. Overall great product and I am very satisfied.

            Amazing Quality

I like many others have done hours upon hours of research for the best headers for my pony. Everyone is gonna have their own opinion and mine now more than ever is Kooks. The quality of the welds and stainless steel tubing are superior to some other brands that I have seen. The moment I started my pony up you could just hear her singing with joy. The x-pipes have a bit of raspy tone to it and the overall noise isn't too loud making it just enough to wake your neighbors at 5am but not enough to put you on any police radars. These are a little on the pricey side but you get what you pay for.
