How to Install a Magnaflow Competition Quad Tip Axle-back Exhaust on Your 2011-2012 V6 Mustang

Time Necessary: Approximately 2 hours

Tools Required:

 Rotozip spiral saw
 Razor blade
 Ratchet and socket
 Tape
 Scissors
 Silver sharpie
 Wd-40

Please Note: For my installation I did not use a lift or floor jacks, it may make it easier to install if you do use these but they are not necessary.

Installation Procedure:

1. Start by making sure your car is in park and the emergency brake is on. Then remove factory muffler. To remove the mufflers locate the ball flare clamp assembly attached to the inlet section of the mufflers. Remove the clamp from them and remove the hangers (lubrication may be required). DO NOT DAMAGE THE RUBBER ISOLATORS.

2. Cut out stencil following the black lines. Place on rear bumper and align with factory lines. Tape to rear bumper and outline with sharpie, remove stencil.

3. With stencil removed use rotozip and follow the line traced in sharpie. Clean up burrs with razor blade (a cut off wheel can be used but it is more difficult and may melt the plastic).

4. Remove factory clamp from the stock muffler and place on the new Magnaflow exhaust.

5. Lubricate hangers and insert first by sliding in the hangers closest to the engine and ending with the last hanger furthest away from the engine. Before tightening clamp, make sure the tips are centered and have at least a ¼ inch of clearance to avoid any heat damage. When tips are aligned tighten the clamp down to around 40 ft. lbs.

6. Repeat steps for driver side this time you may leave the stencil on.

The Installation of this exhaust is easy and simple it sounds great with a slight drown at high speeds. Overall aesthetically and audibly this is a great product.
