Hey guys Stephanie with americanmuscle.com here with an overview of the MMD hood vent scoops for the 2015 and newer Mustang. In this video we're going to go over a few things with the MMD hood vent scoops. We'll mostly be talking about the materials and construction of these hood vent scoops and the install as well. I'll go over the install in more detail later, but I can tell you right now that the install for these is easy. I'm calling this install a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter since there's no drilling or cutting involved. The MMD hood vent scoops are going to be something that you should check out for your S550 if you're looking for a small way to change the stock look of the car. You have a few different options when it comes to swapping out hood vents but there really isn't anything like the MMD vent scoops. These replace the OEM heat extractor vents with scoops that face forward towards the front of the car which is going to give a different look. The first thing I'll mention is that the ones that I have here with me are matte black so these aren't painted. These scoops are available pre-painted in all 2015 plus colors, so if you didn't want the matte black you can get a set of these pre-painted to match your car's color. These will install in place of the OEM hood vent using the supplied clips, studs and nuts. We'll go over that in more detail during the install. These are made from ABS plastic and ABS is often used for exterior parts for a few different reasons. First of all it's very light weight, and second of all it's a strong material that's going to hold up over time against harsh conditions that an item like a hood would see. It's also a very paintable material which is good in this case because a hood vent scoop is going to be pretty obvious on the front of your car. When it comes to price you can expect to pay right around the $200 mark for a set of these. The pre-painted sets are going to be a little bit more expensive than the matte black sets but in all honesty not by very much. This look isn't going to be for everyone as with any exterior styling piece, so if you aren't into these particular scoops you do have a few other options out there. The install, like I said earlier, is going to be a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter, and you're looking at an hour tops to get these installed. You only need a few basic hand tools to get this done, and you don't have to have much experience to be able to tackle this install. If you plan on getting these painted yourself, I would just make sure that you test fit them first. The hood blanket will need to come off and there are a few pieces of hardware to get the stock vents out of the way. Just be careful not to let them pop up and scratch your hood. The clip side goes into the underside of the hood vent scoop, and after that it's just a matter of peeling the backing off of the mounting lip of the hood scoop itself and pressing it into place. Wrapping things up with the MMD hood vent scoops, these are available either in matte black or pre-painted to match your S550's paint. They're made from an ABS plastic and they offer a different look than other aftermarket hood vent modifications. As always you can check them out more online right here at americanmuscle.com.
