Protect Your Investment. The most effective way of ensuring long engine life in either a heavily modded racecar or daily driven 'Stang is regular oil changes. And there is no better oil available for your Pony than Royal Purple. Royal Purple is a full synthetic oil that contains a patented additive to reduce engine wear and protect your rings, cylinders, and bearings more than any other. It also sticks to your engine's internals after shutdown to protect your engine upon startup.

Superior Performance. Unlike other oils, Royal Purple continues protecting your engine even at high temperatures, making it a great choice for every Mustang. It lubricates better regardless of temperature, ensuring your Mustang will run right whether you're stuck in a traffic jam or going for FTD. Many Mustang owners even report better throttle response or even horsepower gains with Royal Purple.

Resists Breakdown. Royal Purple is more resistant to breakdown than other oils, meaning you can go longer on an oil change without worrying about engine damage.

Application. This Royal Purple Oil is a 5w30 weight. Check your Mustang's oil cap or owner's manual for the correct weight for your engine.
  • I4 needs 6 quarts for a complete oil change.
  • V6 needs 5-6 quarts for a complete oil change.
  • V8 needs 5-8 quarts for a complete oil change.

Please Note. If you are unsure how many quarts of oil you will need for a complete oil change, please refer to your vehicles owner manual or contact your local Ford dealer.

I have a 2016 mustang gt with about 8k miles on it right now wanted to know is 5w20 or 5w30 royal purple oil better recommend and reason why ?

JoeyM

  • Both oils would not be a problem in your car, however we typically go with the 5w30. Ultimately we would say go with whatever your owners manual calls for the best bet!

Is this 5w30 motor oil good for my 03 roush stage 2? Am what oil do you guys recommend for my roush stage 2 03? It has about 75k miles.

  • I've been using Royal Purple in my GT for quite some time. I have 106k and running strong and clean. I change it every 3000. All my fluids is from Royal Purple (from engine to rearend). I've been using 5w30 and will never use anything else. I think Royal Purple is second to Amsoil (just too expensive).

    beware!

Any oil that does not have the API seal and/or publish ANY information stating that it meets the auto makers specs like the ford wss# should not be used except in racing applications, unless you like using unproven/uncertified lubricants, or pretty purple oil. Use something like castrol edge if you want a premium oil

    Good purchase.

For 8 quarts the price is good. RP has been around for awhile and their products are really good. I've had zero issues with their oil, both engine and rear end, power steering, coolant additive and so on.

I picked up 4 extra ponies.

My car has 102,000 on it and have been using RP for quite some time. I also use it in my tranny and rear (rear rebuilt last year with carbon clutches). Decided to dyno it and got 252 hp from 248 hp on my last dyno in 08. 4hp is 4hp. Not bad for fluid change. Guess you have to do all fluids to see any change in hp. I think RP is only second to Amsoil. Still, RP is a top notch oil. I'm very happy with it. The main idea is protecting your Engine and Drivetrain. And RP is the way to go. If there is plenty of cash flow, then go with Amsoil. If you've noticed A/M only sells the best oils for your car.

    Good yet expensive.

I wouldn't buy into these people saying you can feel the difference, however this is great oil been using it since i bought my 00 GT 3 years ago. My engine sounds like it did 25,000 miles ago. I'm only giving it 4 stars because of price, 8.99/qt at the local parts store! With shipping from AM I'm sure it would come out even vs buying it at Autozone or kragen.

one of the only true synthetics

put a supercharger on my car and it now mandatory for me to use a full synthetic oil. I change my oil every 3000 miles and it comes out very clean.
