How to install a Steeda Cold Air Intake on your 2005-2009 Mustang

Installation Time

Installation

Steeda's all new Intake Tube was designed specifically for our very popular 2005 Mustang CAI. The intake tube is molded out of high quality heat resistant plastic, with a smooth inside surface to increase the velocity of incoming air. We have seen gains up to of 8 horsepower and 8 ftlbs of torque to the tires throughout the entire power-band!!! No tune is needed for this kit and installation is simple. Included in the kit is gloss blue 4 ply silicone hose and stainless steel hose clamps with instruction. Note: Also fits Ford Racing cold air intake.

1. First step is to remove the factory vacuum line from the stock intake tube. You will need a flat head screwdriver to remove the factory hose clamp. Pry it apart like in picture # 1. Then pull the plastic reducer out of the rubber tube gently.

2. Once the vacuum line is removed, remove the entire factory intake tube by loosening the hose clamp at the throttle body end and also by the mass air meter. Remove the intake and discard.

3. Install the long silicone hose on the mass air end of the Steeda plastic intake tube. The shorter piece will be installed at the throttle body end. Note that there are two different large size hose clamps in this kit. Size # 72 is for the TB end and size 64 for the mass air meter end. Install the intake tube and tighten all hose clamps once it’s aligned properly.

4. Last, install the short piece of 5/8” hose between the nipple and the factory vacuum reducer, picture # 2. Use the two included small hose clamps to secure it in place. Installation is now complete.
