HTR Z II Summer Tire. The Sumitomo High Performance HTR Z II Series Tire is an ultra high performance summer tire. Its aggressive extra wide, arched tread blocks deliver extraordinary performance in either wet or dry conditions, both on and off the track.

Uncompromising Traction and Handling. The HTR Z II's extra wide, arched tread blocks deliver uncompromising racing slick-like dry traction and handling. Dual steel belts with spirally-wrapped Jointless Nylon Band reinforcements deliver high speed stamina and predictable handling, while still minimizing weight and superb uniformity. Single Strand Beads help improve wheel fit and retain rigidity under high stress cornering.

Excellent Anti-Hydroplaning Characteristics. Multi Directional Water Channels push water to the sides and away from the center, providing excellent hydroplaning resistance and enhanced road grip in adverse weather conditions.

Smooth Ride w/ Minimal Road Noise. In addition to outstanding performance, the HTR Z II Series Tire delivers a smooth ride with minimal road noise. That way you and your passengers can be treated to the sounds that really count, like the growl of your motor, the whine of your supercharger, or the bass thumping from your stereo system!

Unique Flanged Lip for Wheel Protection. The HTR Z II Series Tire also features a unique flanged lip on the lower sidewall, which helps protect your expensive wheels from curb damage while parallel parking.

Application. This Sumitomo High Performance HTR Z II Tire is designed for use on any 1979-2020 Ford Mustang model. Please select your proper tire sizing from the options above.

NOTE: This is an ultra high performance summer specific compound and tread tire. Use during the summer and warm temperature months will result in superior traction over & all-season tires. Use during the winter months or in cold temperatures significantly reduces traction and increases stopping distance, as the compound becomes less sticky.

        Sumitomo HTR Z 2 review

I purchased the staggered combo bullitt wheels with the Sumitomo tires for my 94 GT Mustang. The tires handle very well on dry and wet hard driving. The ride is surprisingly neutral when riding on uneven road surfaces. The side walls look sharp and the tread is pretty aggressive. I would recommend them.

        Excellent value and strong performance

Very pleased with these tires. Bought new 285’s last spring for rear, now these 275’s for the front. Exceptional performing tires with great ride and they grip! Even with 500 rwhp, they hook Very well on my ‘04 Terminator.

        VIVIAN's Upgrades

VIVIAN rides on Gun Metal Grey Billet Wheels with a 2 inch lip, wrapped in Sumitomo HTR-Z II 265/35/18s up front and 285/35/18s on the back. She inhales on a Cold Air Intake and exhausts on removed cats, to a Pypes X-Pipe, straight to dual American Thunder 40 Series Flow Masters. She's smooth yet grabs on the pavement very well and the growl is PERFECTION!

        Great Grip

My Stang isn't set up for sharp corners. I'm more of a straight line, stop light to stop light corvette/challenger killer. These tires alone have increased my cornering without concern of tipping/flipping. Going to buy them for my 15 GT as well.

      5 Top Rated Questions

I'm shopping tires, what's the width difference in 265/35/18 and 315/35/18?

      • The width of a tire is actually the first number listed in the tire sizing: ie. for the 265/35-18, the width is 265mm and for 315/35-18, the width is 315mm. Hope this helps!

I want to put the free nitrogen in my tires ok. When the tires are low on nitigen can I mix that nitrogen with air . Do I have to fill it up with nitrogen again

      • You can refill with air without causing any harm, but it will ultimately defeat the purpose and eliminate the benefits of having the nitrogen fill. I'd check your local area to see if there are any places to fill up with nitrogen. Usually some tire shops and similar places may have it available.

Why isn’t there a 295 for an 18 inch rim? I saw it the other day and now I don’t see it?

      • At this time we do not offer this tire in 19" sizes.

Running 255-45-18's front and 275-40-18's on the read and mostly normal type of driving what is the expected mileage I can get with these tires?

      • Due to its nature as a performance tire, we typically see between 25,000 and 35,000 miles tread life depending on driving conditions and driving type.
