NOTE: This is an ultra high performance summer specific compound and tread tire. Use during the summer and warm temperature months will result in superior traction over & all-season tires. Use during the winter months or in cold temperatures significantly reduces traction and increases stopping distance, as the compound becomes less sticky.

Sumitomo HTR Z 2 review
I purchased the staggered combo bullitt wheels with the Sumitomo tires for my 94 GT Mustang. The tires handle very well on dry and wet hard driving. The ride is surprisingly neutral when riding on uneven road surfaces. The side walls look sharp and the tread is pretty aggressive. I would recommend them.Helpful (0)

Excellent value and strong performance
Very pleased with these tires. Bought new 285’s last spring for rear, now these 275’s for the front. Exceptional performing tires with great ride and they grip! Even with 500 rwhp, they hook Very well on my ‘04 Terminator.Helpful (0)

VIVIAN rides on Gun Metal Grey Billet Wheels with a 2 inch lip, wrapped in Sumitomo HTR-Z II 265/35/18s up front and 285/35/18s on the back. She inhales on a Cold Air Intake and exhausts on removed cats, to a Pypes X-Pipe, straight to dual American Thunder 40 Series Flow Masters. She's smooth yet grabs on the pavement very well and the growl is PERFECTION!Helpful (0)

My Stang isn't set up for sharp corners. I'm more of a straight line, stop light to stop light corvette/challenger killer. These tires alone have increased my cornering without concern of tipping/flipping. Going to buy them for my 15 GT as well.Helpful (0)
I'm shopping tires, what's the width difference in 265/35/18 and 315/35/18?
The width of a tire is actually the first number listed in the tire sizing: ie. for the 265/35-18, the width is 265mm and for 315/35-18, the width is 315mm. Hope this helps!
I want to put the free nitrogen in my tires ok. When the tires are low on nitigen can I mix that nitrogen with air . Do I have to fill it up with nitrogen again
You can refill with air without causing any harm, but it will ultimately defeat the purpose and eliminate the benefits of having the nitrogen fill. I'd check your local area to see if there are any places to fill up with nitrogen. Usually some tire shops and similar places may have it available.
Hello team : what happened with the size 255/45/R18 I need to replace my front tires.? Thanks
Unfortunately the 255/45/R18 are currently discontinued.
Why isn’t there a 295 for an 18 inch rim? I saw it the other day and now I don’t see it?
At this time we do not offer this tire in 19" sizes.
Running 255-45-18's front and 275-40-18's on the read and mostly normal type of driving what is the expected mileage I can get with these tires?
Due to its nature as a performance tire, we typically see between 25,000 and 35,000 miles tread life depending on driving conditions and driving type.
In order to make sure we provide the best tire recommendation we recommend reaching out to one of our Mustang Experts over chat or phone.
Unfortunately a 255/40R17 tire will only fit a wheel that is between 8.5" and 10". For an 8" wheel, we recommend a 245/45/R17.
Hi Tomas! On a 10" wide wheel you are able to fit up to a 305 tire size but we would recommend sticking with a 275 or 285 and for the 9in wide wheel we would recommend a 255 tire up front but the tire sizes would depend on the year and model Mustang that you have. Unfortunately, without that information, we are not able to advise on what would be best for your build. If you can, please reach out to us by phone or email so we can discuss what options would be best as well as get the proper pricing for the tires we recommend.
The 245/40/18 in the Sumitomo High Performance HTR Z II Tire will work with your car.
The Treadwear rating of the Sumitomo High Performance HTR Z II Tire is 360
You will want to acquire a tire that will fit the wheel correctly. If you would like to give us a call or email regarding which tire would be best for your wheel, we would be more than happy to assist you!
Hello! We only carry the Sumitomo High Performance HTR Z II tires with black lettering.
There are a lot of factors that go with this. Year of car you are running them on, placement of wheel front or back, just to make sure clearance is there to fit them. But for an 18x9 the biggest tire you can safely run that we recommend is 265/35, you could probably squeeze a 275/40 on there but for the most part 265/35 would work great for you!
Hello! As ambient temperatures get colder, typically in the 40-45° Fahrenheit range, summer performance tires lose a noticeable percentage of traction as their tread compound rubber properties change from a pliable elastic to inflexible plastic. The tire industry uses the term "glass transition" to describe the temperature where a summer performance tire's grip/slip performance changes dramatically. In severe cold conditions it can actually cause the tires to crack, so I would say stay above 50* when using Summer Tires.
For that size wheel the best fit tire for your 2012 Mustang would be 235/50R18, however without having all the specs for those wheels we cannot assure proper fitment. Important factors for proper fitment for those wheels would be backspacing and offset. Factory 18 inch wheels are 18x8 with a +44 offset.
