I have a 98 V6 I lost my original keys and I was wondering if I buy these replacement keys will this fix my issue

    • There is a good chance that this ignition lock with keys will work for you. It is reliant upon one feature being absent that your vehicle may or may not have, and that is the PATS (Passive Anti-Theft System). If you're vehicle does not have PATS, this will work without issue. However, if you have PATS you would want to contact Ford for a replacement key.

Would this key switch work on my 94 GT? I have bought parts on AM before that are advertised for a 94 but when the part comes in the packaging says 96-98 and it still works. Are there any key switches on site for 94's?

    • HI, This Ignition Lock Cylinder is specifically designed for use on the 1996 to 1999 Ford Mustang not equipped with the PATS System, Some parts are interchangeable between the 94-95 and 96-98 but this part is not.

Hey I read that this gen has a anti theft system (PATS) and I was wondering if after installation would you have to have keys programmed by a Ford dealer or will the keys be able to work after installation?

    • All I can tell you is that the last time I had a key issue in the Washington, DC area I found out that Ford Dealerships have gotten out of the key business. It has been taken over by a Third Party Company. I'm sure your local Ford Dealership can refer you to them and they can help you figure out what needs to be done. I'm also sure it has to do with how smart your Smart Key is at this point. Just the key ran me almost $300 as I remember. May you be blessed in your discovery. John

Do you have to program this? I have a 98 GT!

    • Yes, you will have to program your key with the Ignition Lock Cylinder - Black (96-99 All). You can go to any dealership, or most mechanics, to get these synced up with each other.

Great shipping! I took my car to Ford to be programmed and didn't know my car had PATS so they gave me programmed keys. Looks so much better and it's so easy to start now.
