Review & Install Video
What's going on, guys? I'm Alex from americanmuscle.com, and today I'm bringing you my very quick review and breakdown of the Modern Billet Underhood Dress-Up Kit, fitting your 2015 through the current S550 EcoBoost. So in this video, I'm gonna talk about who this kit might appeal to, the construction and materials that went into this, what you should expect to be spending, and then we'll take a very quick look at the installation, even if we can call it that, where I'm gonna be giving this an incredibly easy 1 out of 3 wrenches in the difficulty meter and less than 10 minutes to get these on your car.
So no matter how you're looking to modify your S550 EcoBoost, be it inside, outside, or under your hood for these products in question, one of the things that definitely sticks out to me on the EcoBoost Mustang is the lack of underhood bling or dress-up. Now, the guys over at Modern Billet saw this and took the initiative to bring to market a set of covers and caps here that are not only going to clean up your engine vape but definitely turn some heads at the same time. Not only are these gonna be giving your engine compartment a much needed overhaul in terms of the aesthetics or looks department, but by getting away with these, if you're hunting for car show points, judges are definitely gonna be keeping an eye on what you're working with under your hood, and these are gonna be something that they're definitely looking for.
So in terms of the construction and materials here, guys, it's evident right out of the box that these are definitely very well-built parts. We're gonna see that the team over at Modern Billet is gonna have these manufactured predominantly of the 6061-T6 billet aluminum series. Additionally, these will be then triple chrome plated to a really nice mirror polish shine, which in my opinion is going to mesh very well with some of the mundane trim underneath your hood. Not only that, that finish is gonna be there for a long-lasting look, so you can rest easy knowing that these aren't going to pit or tarnish over time. But the general rule of thumb, it's always a good idea to throw a little bit of polish on there every now and then just to make sure they're in tiptop condition.
So in terms of what you're gonna be getting with this kit, I know it's a little bit tough to see from the table and where you're watching this from, but you're gonna be getting away with a radiator fluid cap cover, a brake fluid cap cover, as well as a windshield wiper fluid cap cover.
So taking a quick look at the pricing here, you should expect to be spending only about $100 for this kit, which in my opinion is a small price to pay to give your underhood compartment some much needed good looks as well as an overhaul, as the factory equipment that came on the EcoBoost is a little bit on the bland and bordering mundane side. Again, for the cost here, guys, you're gonna be getting three solid pieces here that are gonna be very well-built as well as coming in at a very high polish shine, which in my opinion is definitely going to set off your underhood compartment.
So switching gears to the installation portion of the video, just like I had said at the top, you're looking at an incredibly easy 1 out of 3 wrenches in the difficulty meter and less than probably 10 minutes to get these under your car, and it's definitely gonna be one of those easier installs out there for any motorhead looking to incorporate a bunch of much-needed flair under their hood.
Now, the two caps that I have here on your left hand side are going to install a little bit differently than that one right here, and that's gonna be due to the 3M double-sided adhesive on the underside here. Now, this kit is going to come with a supplied alcohol swab, and that's gonna be used to assure that there's no type of grease particulates, anything that's coming up off of the road or from your engine compartment on to the caps, as these are going to stick directly over top of them. Now, with this cap right here, you're essentially just going to be swapping out your existing cap and putting this right in place. Again, very simple, one out of three wrenches and less than five minutes to get this on to your car, and it does not get any easier than that.
All right, guys, so just to wrap things up, here are some final thoughts. If you're the 2015 through the current S550 EcoBoost donor and you're not too thrilled with just how bland your underhood compartment is looking, this kit is definitely gonna be for you. So that's my quick review and breakdown for the Modern Billet Underhood Dress-up Kit for the 2015 through the current EcoBoost Mustang available right here at americanmuscle.com.
