Increase horsepower and torque. Bolt on extra horsepower and torque that you can feel throughout the entire RPM band with a set of JBA Cat4ward® Shorty headers. These JBA Shorty headers will improve your V6 mustangs exhaust flow increasing your pony's horsepower, torque, and throttle response.

Quality Construction. JBA crafted these V6 Shorty headers to last using 3/8" thick laser-cut flanges, free flowing mandrel-bent 1-1/2" 409 stainless steel tubing, and JBA's Sealing Dome® collectors.

Natural Finish. These JBA Headers feature a natural stainless steel finish, which provides an aggressive appearance to your engine bay. This is not a heat-resistant coating, AmericanMuscle recommends the use of Exhaust Heat Wrap for high performance applications.

Application. Designed to fit the 1994-1998 3.8 V6 Ford Mustang. These JBA shorty headers include high-quality mounting hardware, gaskets, and instructions, so that they will bolt right up to your Mustangs stock Mid Pipe.

Long tube or short? Hi, I have 96 v6. I have dual flows, connected via H-pipe and i want to do my headers. My question is. Which would I benefit from more, shorties or the longtubes? Thanks In advance


  • Short tubes will fit the stock length midpipe , long tubes require a shorter aftermarket midpipe . The shorts add less power than the longs .

What honest gains can be expect from these? Do these have a EGR connection? How do these compare to the MAC long tubes in gains? What horsepower and torque gains are to be expected? Will these match up perfectly to my EGR and stock Y-pipe? I had a local shop cut off behind the cats and weld on 2.5" true dual exhaust from there back. How do these compare to the MAC long tubes in hp/tq? What are the gains for hp/tq with a tune?


  • Hi, These JBA Cat4ward Shorty Headers will give you around 10 hp and 15 tq with a tune, They will work perfectly with your stock exhaust and EGR, MAC long tubes with a tune should give you around 20 to 25 HP and about 25 tq

    Good headers pain install

    So I bought these headers hoping to add a little bit of power to my v6 I am very happy with the power increase I climb hills a lot better and throttle response is a lot different now the install it was a major ordeal the egr nut was one extremely hard to break loose and two the alignment for the nut was off compared to the old headers by a little bit at first I had a leak from it and after having to heat bend the egr tube I got it to go on straight other than that I do like the quality of the headers themselves

    I installed this along with a new exhaust and underdrive pulleys. SoI'mnot sure how much you'll get from just the headers but I like the outcome of all

    CARB Compliant

    These shorty headers are good. I'm not going to say great because they don't really make much difference in sound or HP gains. But they do look better than the stock ones though. The other benefit is for those of us that live in California. It won't fail emmissions since it comes with EO #s so that's a bonus. I guess that's one of the main reasons they are expensive.

    Awesome upgrade!!!

    It bolted on easy and did not have much trouble putting the headers on. It gives it a throatier sound to the stock 3.8 on my 95 mustang. It gives a noticeable "kick" to your acceleration. If you want a awesome upgrade for your v6 I would definitely recommend this!!

    Great quality

    My setup might not be the straight forward replacement. I have head studs and the flanges had to be milled at the bottom to clear the studs. the kit came with Feltpro gasket, headers, bolts/nuts. Pretty complete... I was replacing MAC headers that had cracked and broken. The JBAs have a thick connecting bar to the flanges, so I think they are more solid. So far so good, and I don't expect much more performance since the car is already dynotuned with aftermarket headers. I'll be happy with the better quality at this point, so I'm looking forward to having these JBAs for a while.

    very well built headers bolted right on to the engine had some trouble with gasket but turned out awesome and sounds way better than stock

    if u want more power go shorty

    putting these headers on unleashed hidden power goes great with a true dual system i would recommend these header worth the money and it comes with everything u need to install it

    i have a 1998 ford mustangv6 with a bbk intake and flowmasters and with these headers i could see a good difference in the sound and a little more kick. i hope to add a throttle body, mass air meter, and underdrive pulley in the future!
