    Review & Install Video

This adapter is a device that plugs in your auxiliary input, and what it does is it gives you partial Bluetooth capabilities in a car that doesn't come from the factory with Bluetooth. It allows you to wirelessly access and play the music they have on your phone through your car stereo, so no more wires to connect. Your phone will automatically connect when you get in the car. Just to be clear here, this will give you Bluetooth for music only. This device will not allow you to take phone calls through your car stereo, more for wirelessly connecting and playing music from your phone through your car stereo. The way that it works is the adapter will plug into the auxiliary input and it'll sync to your phone. Once the Bluetooth is synced and it can remember up to four devices, a device will automatically pick up your phone moving forward, and you'll have access to your music. This will work with both the factory and most aftermarket stereos, as long as you have the 3.5-millimeter aux port to plug into. The adapter does run off of a battery, but it has a built-in rechargeable battery. The battery will last up to eight hours on a single charge, and when it does need to be charged, can use the included USB cable to charge it back up. This thing all works from the Control button right here in the middle. Press it once to wake the device up, and it'll blink blue to let you know that your phone is connected. To turn the device off, you press and hold for five seconds. The red light will blink three times when it turns off. In order to play your music, you press the Control button once and press twice to skip to the next track. As far as price, you can expect to pay just after the $50 mark for this adapter. It's going to come with a device, an extension, and the USB cable to charge the device. When it comes to the install, if we want to call it an "install," is a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter, and it's going to take all of five minutes to get done. All you're looking at needing to do is after charging the device, you'll then plug into the auxiliary port, carrying your phone with the device. Select the aux port source on your radio and play from your music. This adapter will work with the 2005 and newer Mustangs that don't have Bluetooth from factory. You can check it out more online right here at

The Bluetooth device is said to fit Mustangs from 2005. However, I know of the power outlet in the center console but it does not have the 3.5 input jack. I can only believe that the beginning models of 2005 Mustang were not equipped with the jack. When I push the "AUX" button on the radio, I get the "NO AUX INPUT" flash on the radio. What can I do?

    • The Alterum Bluetooth Adapter is designed for the 2005-20018 Mustangs that are equipped with a factory stereo that features a 3.5mm auxiliary input. If you have a different size auxiliary input, you can purchase the appropriate extension cable that plugs into the Bluetooth adapter.

Handy little thing. Was looking forward to being able to listen to all my tunes off my phone. Didn't realize I'd have the added bonus of being able to listen to the police scanner app off my phone too!

      Well worth the price

In minutes you'll be able to listen to music on any Bluetooth enabled device. Mine fits nicely in the center console while the short cable puts the unit above the console's contents.

      Bluetooth Adapter

Does what it’s post to. It would be nice if you could make calls/answer phone calls with this. But it’s not made for that.

      Alterum Bluetooth adapter

Alterum Bluetooth adapter for my 2008 Mustang GT plugged it in input jack in console and worked great transforming music and phone to come through car speakers wire free. I also ordered inexpensive magnet mount for sunvisor for my Iphone and can talk hands free on speaker and select music direct from from phone by touch or Siri. You have to turn apdapter on when entering car but a Cool product for reasonable price.

      Love it!

Absolutely love this accessory. Very easy to set up and connect every time I want to use it. It doesn’t take calls, but I have a different ear piece for that. When I want to reconnect my music I just push the button. Love it! A lot cheaper than having to buy a whole new system.

Great at first but not now!

When I first received the adapter it worked very well, as intended. After a couple of months with minimal usage the adapter still works but I have to turn the volume almost all the way up to hear it and there is very little bass. As far as I can see there is no volume adjustment on the device. I have since switched to a different device which was cheaper and works better. Don't waste your time or money with this one.

      Good idea, doesn't work

Got this, it came in. Plugs in perfectly, connects via Bluetooth perfectly. But once you play music or any audio through it, it's completely horrible. It sounds like every note goes through every pitch before it gets to the speakers. Tried with other devices, same thing. Plug in my phone via 3.5mm, sound is flawless. Faulty device.

This little Bluetooth adapter is just what the doctor ordered. It's out of sight plugged into the jack in the console box and works perfectly to play my music from my I-phone through my stereo without an unsightly cord!

It does exactly what it is suppose to do. I have no complaints this far. As advice Buy a dual plug car charger.
