How to Install a 3DCarbon One-Piece Tonneau Cover - Unpainted on Your 2005-2012 Mustang

CAUTION!! THE ONE PIECE TONNEAU COVER WILL NOT FIT IN THE TRUNK OF THE MUSTANG. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DRIVE VEHICLE WITH TONNEAU COVER UNSECURED INSIDE THE VEHICLE.

NOTE- there are different brackets for the left and right sides!!Before installation of the tonneau cover, ensure that the correct bracket is being installed on the correct side. They are asymmetrical. See Image #7.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1 )Using images #1,2, &3 as a reference, secure the provided locating brackets with a rubber mallet. Note: It is easier to secure the bracket by starting with one corner first. Once one corner is secured, use the mallet to secure the rest of the bracket on.

Step 2) Lower the convertible top assembly on the vehicle. Carefully slide the three plastic “tongue’s” under the ramrodding in the rear of the convertible. The cover should be placed to align the cam-lock with the bracket secured in step1. See Image #4 & 5 as reference of how to correctly align the bracket and cam lock.

Step 3) Lower the front of the tonneau and insert the keys into the locks. Turn the key to position the Lock-Tab Cam under the front of the interior plastic. By turning the key, the Lock-Tab slides into the locating bracket, thus locking it. See Image #6.

Step 4)Check the security of the locks by pulling up on the cover before driving the vehicle.

CLEANING AND PROTECTING

The Tonneau cover is manufactured in light textured ABS Plastic. Do not use alcohol based products for cleaning the surface. The alcohol will dry out the material. We only recommend Mother’s Plastic Cleaner for cleaning and protecting the surface, it will clean the surface and protect the plastic from the elements. Contact Mother’s at www.mothers.com

PAINTING

The Tonneau cover may be painted to match the vehicle color. See your local paint and body shop for service.
