Massive Reduction in Body Roll and Front-End Precision. The 1-3/8-Inch (35mm) Front Sway Bar for the 2005-2014 Mustang is a heavy-duty handling upgrade designed to significantly increase front-end roll stiffness. By linking the front struts with a larger-diameter bar, this kit effectively counters the lateral weight transfer that occurs during hard cornering. For the S197 chassis, this results in a much flatter cornering attitude, improved tire contact patches, and a drastic reduction in the nose-heavy sensation often felt during aggressive turn-in, making your Mustang feel much more nimble and responsive.
High-Tensile Tubular Steel for Strength and Weight Savings. Most high-performance 1-3/8-inch bars, such as those from Steeda or BMR, utilize heavy-wall DOM (Drawn Over Mandrel) tubular steel. This hollow design provides the same torsional stiffness as a smaller solid bar but with a significant reduction in unsprung weight. The bars are typically cold-formed to ensure material memory and resistance to torsional fatigue over time. Finished in durable powder coating, these bars are built to withstand the rigors of both daily street driving and the high-stress environment of road racing or autocross.
