How to Install AEM Electronics Tru-Boost External Sensor Upgrade Kit (79-17 All) on your Ford Mustang

The 30-4351 Kit Contains:
(1) Pressure sensor
(1) Cable, External Sensor
(1) Adapter, 1/8 NPT Female to -4 Male
(1) Adapter, 1/8 NPT Female to 3/16 Barb

External Pressure Sensor 

The Tru Boost is capable of reading boost levels up to 50 psig when using the external sensor. To use the external sensor, connect the pressure sensor to manifold pressure using the supplied adapters. Connect the black plug on the harness to the mating plug on the end of the sensor. Plug the single row 3-pin connector into the mating 3-pin connector on the back of the gauge. In order for the Tru Boost to read the external sensor, the external sensor (E) must be selected in the pressure sensor (SEn) option. To enter the program menu, hold both buttons down for 2 seconds. The gauge will display “PRG”. Hold both buttons again for 2 seconds to move to the first option. Push both buttons at the same time to move to the next option. When the sensor option (SEn) is shown, select the external pressure sensor (E) by pressing either button. Continue scrolling through the options by pressing both buttons until the run mode is reached. The Tru Boost is now configured to read the external pressure sensor.

Note: With the external sensor selected, the LED lights will flash red and the center digits will display “ErP” if the external sensor is shorted or disconnected.
