    Review & Install Video

Hey I’m Justin with and welcome to my detailed breakdown of the AeroForce single interceptor gauge available for all 96 and newer Mustangs. Ok, at first glance you can see the interceptor is a standard 52mm or 2 1/16 “ gauge that should fit into most aftermarket gauge pods without issue. As for the appearance side of things the interceptor does sport a black bezel, with a bluish LCD screen when the gauge is on of course, in addition to white or black interchangeable faces. It does also come with a power and ground harness in addition to the ODB2 cable, that is used to connect the actual gauge itself to your Mustang’s ODB2 port. In my opinion, this one of the most capable and versatile gauges available on the market today. AeroForce has managed to stuff in an ODB2 monitoring device, a virtual drag strip, shift and warning lights, and finally a diagnostic tool, all into one very attractive gauge which is very fairly priced considering the amount of stuff this gauge can do. So with that said let’s get started with the ODB2 monitoring capabilities. Because the interceptor does plug into your car’s computer it’s capable of reading over 100 of your different Mustang’s parameters. Of course common stuff like air/fuel ratio, RPM, coolant temperature, and voltage are all there, but you also have the ability to read some more obscure yet equally important info, such as your fuel temperature and trim, your transmission slippage, and even some knock sensor data in addition to many other features. Of course if you did want a complete breakdown of all the things this thing is capable of reading, in addition to some other useful info, and you’re not already watching this video on our site, go ahead and click the link below to head back to the product page over at Of course you can’t read over 100+ parameters at one time due to the obvious space limitations on the little gauge, what AeroForce has done about this is allowed two to be visible at one time, or you can have 8 different parameters cycle at an adjustable rate of speed. One of my favorite features with the interceptor has to be these two high intensity warning lights, that can be set up in a couple of different ways. Of course one of the most popular ways would be to set it up as a shift light, however you can set it up to flash if trans or coolant temps exceed a certain temperature, or if your air/fuel ratio exceeds a certain number, helping to prevent any lean condition or possible damage to your motor. As I mentioned earlier, this thing is way more capable than just displaying only your car’s parameters, it can also be used as your own personal virtual drag strip, where it will measure your 1/8 and ¼ mile times, your 0-60 time and of course your lateral G performance as well. Of course if you’ve seen the newer 2013 Mustangs equipped with the track app option, you know it’s a very cool feature that allows you to track your performance as different mods are added. Finally the interceptor can be used as a diagnostic tool allowing you to read and clear your check engine lights without the hassle of having to go somewhere to get the code read and cleared, or having to break out your tuner to clear the code yourself. Installation of the interceptor really couldn’t get much easier thanks to the simple plug and play design. Of course a big part of that install is to determine where you want the gauge to go. For our install we used a vent mounted gauge pod for a clean and stealthy install, but you can easily use more traditional methods such as the steering column or A pillar mounted gauge pods. Once you do determine where you want to gauge to go, all you need to do is simply run the wire down to the ODB2 port and plug it in. We’re going to call this install 30 minutes from start to finish but don’t be surprised if most of that time is spent hiding that wire. Of course if you should get jammed up, give us a call at 855-422-7439 or shoot us an email at So if you’re looking for one gauge that can pretty much do it all at a very fair price, then you have to check out an interceptor for your Mustang, over at, and if you haven’t already done so, subscribe to our YouTube channel, just click on the link below, or up on the AM logo there in the corner, this way you can check out all the latest Mustang videos, some of our badass project cars, and of course me breaking down all of your favorite Mustang parts.

Monitor Critical Systems. The AeroForce Single Interceptor Gauge will allow you to monitor the critical systems of your Mustang. The Interceptor scan gauge is capable of displaying over 100 parameters, two at a time or up to 8 using cyclic scan.

Virtual Drag Strip. The AeroForce Interceptor can also be used to accurately measure quarter mile, 1/8 mile or 0-60 times and speeds.

Diagnostics. The AeroForce Single Interceptor Gauge not only monitors your vital systems, but it also allows you to read and clear DTC's (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) via the menu options. Those that have modified their vehicle will find this very handy when a sensor, vacuum line, etc. has been inadvertently left disconnected, or something was just not put back together properly.

Precision Monitoring. This multifunctional gauge is capable of precisely monitoring your Air/Fuel Ratio as well as your Fuel or Oil Pressure. In order to properly monitor these parameters, your 96-04 Mustang would require the use of the Air/Fuel Ratio Sensor Kit and/or the use of the Fuel/Air Pressure Sensor Kit dependent upon your preferences. Please refer to drop-down options above.

Plug-n-play Installation. Installation of the AeroForce Single Interceptor Gauge is accomplished by simply plugging the supplied connector into the OBD2 port below the steering wheel. Literally a plug-and-play install.

Application. This AeroForce Single Interceptor Gauge is specifically designed for use on 1996-2004 Mustangs equipped with an OBD2 port, including the V6, GT, Bullitt, Mach 1 and SVT Cobra models. Gauge includes (1) black face plate, (1) white face plate, and (1) black bezel.

It says that not all cars will display the speed? Will this display speed for a 1999 GT?

    • Some vehicles do not broadcast the parameters that the Gauge can pick up on. As long as your 99 GT broadcasts it, the Gauge will be able to display it.

Do I need any of the sensors for this gauge to work properly

    • That is depending on what features you would the gauge to display. If you would like your Air/Fuel ratio or the Fuel/oil pressure to be shown then you will have to purchase the proper sensors to do so.

Can you change the color display on these gauges or will it only light up blue? I would like mine to have a white display with black back ground to match my mach 1 cluster. Is this possible with these gauges or is it something i have to order seperate?

    • The Aeroforce Single Interceptor Gauge (96-04 All) will not allow you to change the colors of the display. This gauge will only light up in blue.

Awesome Product! Great service from A.M.

I have several gauges in both my cars, and this aeroforce is the best gauge I have ever owned. It does so many different things. Fuel pres and Water temp being the biggest for me. Plus install is a breeze all you do is plug the one wire in the OBD2 port. Also, American Muscle had this to me in 3 days! and at a great price. Thanks A.M.

This is an excellent multifunctional gauge!

I installed this along with an NGK AFX Wideband Air/Fuel Monitor system. The analog outputs on the AFX work perfectly with the Aeroforce analog inputs and its very easy to put the equation in to convert the voltage to A/F ratio. The OBDII connection is excellent, and provides a ton of information without having to constantly plug in your programmer and datalog. I also like that you can display any two parameters at once. I prefer to have my IATs and A/F ratio. Great product! The only thing I would suggest is that you carry the additional gauge face options. I was fortunately able to purchase the matching SVT Cobra gauge face directly from Aeroforce.

      Works like it should

Nice gauge to have, does lots of things. Cool thing is you can pick the gauge start-up logo, cobra or pony. Mainly bought it for intake air temp and coolant, mph and rpm is good too. Wish it read oil temp and pressure but 1996 doesn't have factory sensors for this. Also has two led lights that can be used as warning or shift light. AM should offer the extra accessory's though, I bought a SVT logo white face and all black bezel from another website.

      AeroForce Single Interceptor Gage

Was looking for something to make my mustang different from the others and I found that in the interceptor gage. Just pick a gage pod of your choice, mount it, and plug the wire harness into your obt test port. It really is that simple. The gage reads out what your cars computer is monitoring. Fuel pressure,RPM, throttle percentage, exhaust temp ETC.

Great gauge it provides so much information. It was an easy install even for me. The only minus is that being digital it is hard to see the display in bright sunny conditions.

I was considering getting 2 or 3 gauges to monitor a few things but the price of those three, was the price of one of these plus you get TONS of info with this. I spent a hour just playing with it trying to decide which 8 (yes 8 on a single guage!) to display. Works awesome and appears to be as accurate as you can get. I still havent got around to using all the different things on this. It also has a logo picture that you can choose to pop up on start up. Great product.

Overall I'm very happy with this purchase of this gauge it does everything but drive your car for you. Well worth the money and as it says it's lug and play, the hardest part was figuring out how to use all the things you can do with this excellent gauge. I highly recommend this product, well worth the cost!!!!!

      Great Gauge

I purchased this gauge a couple years ago for my 98 Mustang. I experienced some problems with the gauge because I do not drive the car often. The gauge did stop working but I contacted Aeroforce and they took care of me and got the gauge back to working. If you do not drive your car often make sure to unplug it so it when not in use. Thanks American Muscle and Aeroforce.
