    Cooler Charge For More Power. Superchargers are great for making power, but they are also known to create excessive heat that can cause detonation. But by upgrading your Supercharged Shelby GT500 to a AFCO Double Pass Heat Exchanger you can effectively disperse this extra heat lowering intake charge temperatures to eliminate detonation and increase horsepower.

    Superior Construction. Using an all aluminum construction, AFCO double pass heat exchangers are much lighter and provide better thermal efficiency than stock allowing for a cooler intake charge. Each heat exchangers is 100% TIG welded by hand for the strongest and most uniformed welds possible, with no epoxy.

    Application. This AFCO Double Pass Heat Exchanger is designed to be a direct fit replacement upgrade for the 2007 to 2012 Shelby GT500 equipped with the Supercharged DOHC 5.4L V8 engine.

    Can this HE be used to replace a broken AFCO with fans and transfer the fans from the broken one to this one? My HE (about a year old) with fans got broken during a very small accident but the fans are ok. Thanks!

    • This AFCO Double Pass Heat Exchanger is not designed to accept the same fans as your AFCO Pro-Series Heat Exchanger with fans. You would need some of custom brackets to ensure the fans would fit securely. AFCO may also be able to provide the same exchanger without the fans.

      Afco double pass heat exchanger

      Love the aftermath of the install , looks great and notice the coolant temps are lower ! This part is worth it and a mist to make more power

      So far so good.

      I have a 2010 Roush 427R with the M90 supercharger. I have put on a smaller pulley wheel for the M90, a larger throttle body, bigger injectors and ford racing dual fuel pump. For any upgrades on horsepower there needs to be an equal measure towards heat management. I road race my car 5 times a year and have always ended up with heat soak prior to this upgrade. Heat soak is an eventuality but with this upgrade it takes much longer for it to happen. The one difficulty was that for the 2010 Roush model the inside of the bumper needed to be reshaped in order to be fitted. Had a professional install at a race shop which took about 6 hours due to the bumper shaping.

      great product..excellent craftsmanship

      easy install ..if u have whipple kit pick up some rubber grommets at oriellys and put them on water pump studs and put nuts that came with intercooler on to cure vibrating rattle from studs ..

      Double Pass heat exchanger 2008 GT500

      Design and construction of the product rates excellent. Instructions were precise and easy to follow. Notice a reduction of under the hood heat and better supercharger performance. AFC is a high quality product.

      Proven results already, solid product!

      I replaced my Roush stock heat exchanger with this Afco unit. I'd recommend removing the front bumper, makes install much easier. Also, you will need a 4ft heater hose as well as a couple 90 degree heater hose elbows. I data logged my IAT's & Coolant temps for a couple weeks prior to install. Afterwards did more data logging and my coolant temps have been a few degree's lower than before, plus in hotter temps as summer is here in Texas.

      Excellent upgrade for any watercooled supercharger kit. Since the install of mine with a Vortech V3 kit, constantly see a decrease of 12-15 degrees.

      Replacing whipple heat exchanger on 06 mustang gt.

      I replaced my whipple heat exchanger with the AFCO dual pass unit. Pics can be seen here. http://mustangforums.com/forum/gt-s197-general-discussion/683910-replacing-whipple-heat-exchanger.html I gave it a 4 for bang for your buck, because, well, it's expensive and I'm not positive it works any better at reducing temps. It is a direct swap and all you need is an additional length of hose. The mounting bracket for the intercooler pump on the afco is for a gt500 pump. The bracket that whipple uses will not fit, but you could get a gt500 pump and use it. Unfortunately I don't have a IAT sensor after the blower, so i can't say for certain the intake temps are lower, but my knock sensors did pull less timing during wide open throttle in similar conditions. The install was a breeze after removing the bumper cover and you can leave the whipple pump in the same location and use a 3 foot piece of 3/4 inch hose to reach the afco inlet.

      wot difference ;o)

      I install the AFCO heat exchanger in about 2 hours it easy and I really notice a diference when I press the accelerator it's like when the car is cold, I recommend that qualitie parts when you have a superchager

      AFCO Double Pass Heat Exchanger

      I bought this for my 08 GT to go with the Eaton supercharger setup. It fits great and came with all of the hardware needed. I have also installed one of these of an 08 GT 500 as a replacement for the stock unit. It even included the hose for that setup. Easy straight forward swap. Helps keep the IAT's down. Great product.
