    This is the SR Performance Aluminum One Piece Driveshaft for Automatic 2005 to 2010 V6 Mustangs. The '05 to '10 V6 Mustangs came from the factory with a two-piece driveshaft, which is inherently gonna have some weaknesses. This Aluminum One Piece Driveshaft from SR Performance is gonna be a good option for anyone with an automatic V6. We're gonna get rid of those weaknesses for performance, driveability, or just piece of mind reasons. This is currently the only option available for the '05 to '10 V6, which makes it the most affordable option. So if you're looking for a one-piece driveshaft for your '05 to '10 V6, this is what you're gonna wanna check out. And I'll talk more about this later, but the install here is gonna be a two out of three wrenches in the difficulty meter, and take about two hours time. A one piece driveshaft is a huge upgrade over the factory two piece driveshaft for a few reasons. An aluminum one piece driveshaft will be stronger. It's gonna shed some extra pounds from your Stang, about 29 pounds to be exact, and improve driveability. This is gonna be stronger because you're eliminating any inherently weak spot in the factory driveshaft due to the two piece design. And you're also gonna be using stronger materials all the way around. Keep in mind that the driveshaft is made from four-inch certified 6061 aluminum tubing. It also has 1330 series U-Joints. When it comes to weight savings, let me remind you that these are pounds that'll be shaved directly off of your Mustang's rotational mass. When you take that much weight off of your drive train, you're gonna immediately notice a few things. Faster revs and better throttle response and even some faster quarter mile times. You'll also notice that the one piece driveshaft will eliminate those vibrations that you commonly find with the factory two piece driveshaft. So that's another plus side here. So overall, you're looking at improvements such as faster revs, better throttle response, and less vibrations or clunking during driving. I mentioned earlier that this is one of the more budget-friendly options when it comes to upgrading your driveshaft. You're gonna expect to spend under $750 for this option. SR Performance does have an aluminum one piece driveshaft for manual cars as well. So if you have a manual transmission, you're gonna wanna check that one out. As far as the installs goes for this, I said earlier that this is gonna be a two out of three wrenches in the difficulty meter. And you're gonna expect to spend about two hours getting this installed. I will say that you should have some knowledge or someone to help you that's done this before. I wouldn't really recommend this as a job for the first-time wrencher. You're gonna need a handful of tools to get the job done including a torque wrench and, as usual, a lift will be your best bet here. But the job can be done on a jack and jack stands as well. Don't plan on dropping your exhaust from the mid-pipe bag, and that's gonna give you access to drop the driveshaft. There's a factory driveshaft safety loop that you need to get out of the way. And then you just have your bolts at both the front and the rear of the driveshaft to break free. Before you break those bolts free, I would mark the driveshaft, though. Once the stock one is out, you can install the pinion plate adapter on the rear of the differential pinion flange, and get the new driveshaft into the car with the pinion flange end first. Of course, a second set of hands can help you remove and install the driveshafts since this can be a little bit hard to do on your own.
