I obtained 1.25" lowering springs with rates 280 f and 250 r for my daily driver. I was wondering if its better for my ride quality that I get rubber bushings instead of polyurethane

    • For daily driving quality the rubber springs are going to absorb more contact, quieter, and cheaper. While the Ford Front bushing kit will be more accurate steering, sturdy feeling, better for aggressive driving.

I currently have the BMR front lower control arms installed on my GT right now which I purchased from and I'm not quite fond of their ride quality because of the polyurethane bushings it comes with. I can feel every crack and penny I role over on the road. It's definitely a big step down from the smooth ride it had before on the factory control arms. I'm looking to purchase the Boss 302S front lower control arms with this bushing kit and was wondering what it would feel like in comparison to the BMR front lower control arms?

    • The Ford Performance BOSS 302S Competition Front Bushing Kit (05-14 All) will make you have a stiffer ride to improve handling and steering response. This will not necessarily give you a more comfortable ride. It is to improve the cars handling around turns.

Superior over stock, but do the research

There's not much information about these bushings, their application, or installation out there. So I'm about to enlighten potential buyers. First off, these bushings are great. Poly would probably be sufficient, but these are about as good as you are ever going to get on the front end of a s197. There's a reason they were stock on a 302S and R. Now, some info for you all. For one, these are only a direct fit for a front control arm for a 302S/R. They will not go onto a stock control arm without modification, specifically cutting off the rear bushing inner sleeve on the stock arm. If you are going to get these bushings, I highly recommend getting a Ford Performance Boss 302S/R front control arm. Next, installation. First, the flange end of the front bushing goes towards the inside of the angle of the control arm. You will know what that means once you are looking at it. That aluminum bushing will not go in without using a press, trust me. Second, the rear bushing does not press on like the stock one. The biggest difference being the bushing is in 2 pieces. One is like a spacer, and then the bushing that the bracket goes over. The order of installation goes: Spacer, with wider end facing the weld, then the bushing with the flange on the inside. Learn from me, all of that I found out through trial and error, and by talking with Ford Performance. Ford, you should really print some instructions and guidelines to go with these. So, to recap: 1. Ideally purchase in conjunction with Boss 302S/R control arm 2. Far superior over stock 3. Improved rear bushing geometry and header clearance 4. Stock arm will require modification

      Boss 302S front bushing kit

The product is as described and certainly gives more clearance for headers. A brief instruction sheet would have been help. The rear bushings are to be installed a certain way and of course I guessed wrong the first time. Had to call Ford Performance Tech to get the right answer. Time to find out how well they do work
