Improve Handling Performance. Upgrade your S197 Mustang to a higher standard by replacing your stock stamped steel A-arms with a set of BMR Suspension Adjustable Tubular Front Lower Control Arms to save weight and improve handling performance. BMR Tubular A-arms are lighter than the stock pair shaving 11.2 lbs off the front end of your Pony.

Adjustable. BMR Suspension S197 Mustang Front Lower Control Arms are adjustable, thanks to the QA1 Motorsports Teflon-lined XR series spherical rod end bearings that allow you to dial in your suspensions settings just by turning a wrench.

Tubular Steel Construction. Made in the USA from TIG welded 1.25" diameter heavy wall DOM steel tubing for superior strength and rigidity, these BMR Front Lower Control A-arms feature CNC machined rear pivot points and are completed in a durable black hammer-tone powdercoat finish for great looks and long lasting corrosion resistance.

OE Ball Joints. BMR includes two brand new 18mm standard height ball joints that are sourced from the same OE (original equipment) supplier Ford uses.

Application. This set of two BMR Suspension Adjustable Front Lower Control Arms are designed for 2005 to 2009 Mustangs including the V6, GT, Bullitt, and Shelby GT500 models. These BMR A-arms are compatible with both the stock K-member as well as the BMR Standard or Lowered Tubular K-Member.

So what does the adjustment affect? Camber? Caster?

    • The BMR Adjustable Front Lower Control A-Arms can be used to adjust front track width by up to 9/16"

It appears the ball joints are welded onto the control arm. Do I have to trash the entire component when the ball joint goes bad?

    • The ball joints in the BMR Adjustable Front Lower Control A-Arms are serviceable. You would contact BMR for sourcing replacements.

Has anyone weighed these and the stock ones to compare? How much weight savings do these provide?

    • The weight difference between the BMR Adjustable Front Lower Control A-Arms - Standard Ball Joint - Red (05-09 All) and the stock lower control A-arms will be around 6lbs. The BMR Adjustable Front Lower Control A-Arms - Standard Ball Joint will weigh 24lbs whereas the stock ones will weigh 30lbs.

What exactly does the adjustment affect? What is the purpose of the adjustment that these A-arms provide? How do these compare to stock other than weight reduction?

    • I just installed NON-adjustable BMR control arms with the BMR K-member, and the control arms are a little long. The ball joint does not sit directly under the mounting bracket, so the ball joint is angled inward a fair amount. I don't think it's going to hurt the performance because it's well within the natural range of movement of the ball joint, but it's probably not optimum. I would prefer the ball joint be sticking straight up so that's it's plumb/vertical. If I had these adjustment fittings and slotted holes on my control arms I would be able to make that happen. I hope this helps.

      Upgrade from stock

Fairly easy to install with the included instructions. What they DON'T tell you is that you'll need to disconnect the tie-rod ends and turn the wheel to full lock to get the old front a-arm bolt out and the new one in. Had an alignment performed afterwards and everything feels great now. The upgraded bushings are noticeable.
