does this shaker system include the hood? My 2013 has a standard flat hood and I would like to get the shaker system but there is no info if the hood is included and I do not see a shaker hood on your site- I don't want to cut the factor hood thats on my car now.

Marq

  • Unfortunately, this does not include the hood as well. It would require cutting into the factory hood for installation.

Is this compatible with any intake that will fit under the factory gt strut brace?

Sean

  • The CDC Shaker System for the 11-14 GT will not be compatible with any strut tower braces. This kit will be a No Re-tune Required. The CDC Shaker System uses the factory air box so engine flashing is not necessary, leaving your emissions unchanged and warranty intact. If you would like to use an aftermarket intake, you can do so. We have multiple customer submitted photos in which provide photos of their Shaker system installed with aftermarket cold air intakes.

I see that this is listed as 11-14 GT,would this fit the 2015 Gt also? I realize the hood may be different but the engines are the same right?

DustinK

  • This will not fit the 2015 GT model Mustang as not only is the hood a different shape, but the 2015-2017 model Mustang GT's have the 2nd generation Coyote engine which has different header ports that are not compatible with this Shaker System.

Could this fit on top on top of the boss manifold?

Jkelsey

  • Hello! The CDC Shaker System is designed to mount up with the factory intake and would likely require a bit of modification to get it to mount properly with the Boss 302 Intake Manifold.

Can I install the shaker system on 2012 mustang that is not a gt?

Nik

  • This shaker system is specifically designed for use on the 2011 and newer model Mustangs that are equipped with the Coyote 5.0 motor. If this were to be installed on a 2012 V6, this will have no performance attached to it and will be merely for decoration.

This is one of those mods that you have to really want

If you love the shaker hood system but are afraid of cutting your newer vehicle.. then here is a true testimonial. I followed the directions carefully .. measured numerous times before cutting and it turned out great. Great instructions(u just have to know how to read a tape measure) and u will probably have to visit your local hardware store for some of the tools but if i can do this install, then anyone can. Good Luck.. and if you need any tips feel free to pm me.

should not be priced this high.

For something that is priced more than double what it ought to be, I expected absolute perfection from this product. There were several minor blemishes from the manufacturing process. Since my car is a daily driver, and not a show car, they were acceptable. But, again, not when you consider the price. It wasn't worth the hassle for me to return the piece, and likely get another one with similar shortcomings. Those of you who say you did this in your driveway, my hat's off to you -- because my body man (who has 30 years experience) said cutting the hood properly was difficult and time consuming. I'm in the northeast, so yeah, labor costs alot more around here, but the final total cost almost made me regret the purchase. But, there is no understating the visual impact this scoop makes. Very close homage to the vintage Shakers, and even though it might be the placebo effect, I think it made my '14 GT more responsive. I have the OE CAI system, with a KandN filter element...

    Quality, eye catching addition

I cannot begin to tell how many compliments I've had about my car since installing this shaker hood. I did not notice any performance gains, but I still have no regrets because it makes your 'Stang look amazing. I had it professionally installed for around $200, the guy said it was one of the easier installations to do and the instructions were very good. He also commented on the overall good quality of the materials.

    Shaker, Shaker!

Despite all of my co-works and friends heeds about not cutting a hole into my perfectly good hood myself. I completely disregard their advice and did it anyway! The complete job looks very good but it's not perfect. Thanks to the excellent direction received with the parts. I would give myself a B not bad for a Beginner. I used a jigsaw to cut the hole. I recommend that once you start the cut keep going until it is done. Follow the directions and you'll be fine. Make sure you check the measurements several times before you make the cut. The shaker scoop looks great on my hood a perfect complement to my gotta have it green GT mustang. Yes, it does shake during start up and and when I step on the gas!

Don't be afraid to install the Shake!

After hearing all my friends and coworkers advised me not to cut the hood myself I went and did it anyway. The directions were great just follow them and you'll be okay. Make sure you take your measurements and check them several times before you make your cut. I used a jigsaw one tip, once you start don't stop just keep going until the cut is done.

    Great Buy and Perfect Look

I just put this system on my 2014 5.0 and it was worth the stress of cutting a hole in my hood. It shakes a bit and moves during throttling. I have already received a few comments in the first day driving around. It is a head turner. The only advice I have is to purchase a high speed jig saw and the best metal blade money can buy. When you start your cut do not stop. I did the entire cut with one blade, no vibration and was as clean as they come. Second advice is to purchase wider bonding tape with adhesive used for putting on emblems and badges on cars. Third, learn how to divide fractions when measuring. We all argued when we would use math and this was the one time I had to use it. Great buy and absolutely get it.

A true head turner...Absolute game changer must for your GT

This functional hood scoop just looks mean growling down the rd. It turns alot of heads for a 2nd glance. It does everything it says & the product is solid materials. As mentioned previously it doesn't shake a whole lot except for when initial cold crank/start. However, it does most def. intake a tremendous amount of "Ram Air" So NOTE: if you have a newer GT w/ a Cold Air Intake/Induction, you will notice your car running lean! Thats never good air/fuel guage peak to high it will run lean. This is easily put back within stock parameters of about avg 14.1 but w/ a simple hand held tuner program You will be fine. Or if you stay w/ the stock air filter rather than CAI system Also, you have to find the courage to have your new hood cut through. Follow the template you will be fine. The water, valve hose for drainage is kinda junk if it rains heavy while your driving. But again the look is sick & the power gain is easily noticable!

These things completely change the look of your Mustang! Had a little trouble finding someone to put it in since nobody in my area(VA Beach) has ever put one in a GT as new as mine(13) but I brought it to a dealerships collision shop and they did it but it wasn't cheap($300) but worth every penny. Look in the customer pics mine is the grabber blue retro style GT...love it!
