How to Install a Chrome Engine Dress Up Kit on your 1979-1995 Mustang

Installation Instructions for Mr. Gasket Engine Dress-Up Kit

1. Remove existing valve covers from engine.

2. Clean all grease, dirt and old gasket material from head mounting surface.

3. Use new gaskets when installing valve covers. (Not included with all kits.) Use a small amount of gasket sealer to hold new gaskets to valve cover during installation.

4. Secure valve covers using new wing nuts or bolts with washers or clamps, whichever is supplied.

5. Tighten to 5-7 ft. Ibs. Do not over-tighten!

IGNITION WIRE LOOMS (NOT INCLUDED IN ALL KITS)

1. Mount looms to valve cover by bolting loom under washer/clamp of wing nut or bolt.

2. Slit grommets and install on to wires.

3. Carefully push wires with grommets into place on loom.

OIL BREATHER CAP AND GROMMETS

1. Insert grommets into valve cover holes (Grommet may need to be slit for proper breathing.)

2. Install breather, PVC Valve, etc. into appropriate holes.

ENGINE OIL DIPSTICK

1. Remove old dips ick and tube from block or oil pan.

2. Clean hole in block or oil pan and firmly press new tube into place. Use a small dab of sealer on the tUbe to avoid leaks., then install dipstick.

TIMING COVER (NOT INCLUDED WITH ALL KITS.)

This is a more labor-intensive installation than the other items. We recommend referring to a shop repair manual for your specific vehicle to ensure correct installation procedure.
