    Review & Installation Video

    Review & Install Video

Hey everyone, I’m Justin with AmericanMuscle.com, and today I’m taking a look at these chrome CCFL headlights for all ’05-’09 Mustangs. The first thing you’ll notice when taking a look at these headlights is that sleek chrome finish which is a result of pairing a bright chrome housing with a crystal clear lens. What you won’t notice until you see these headlights in action is the very cool CCFL Halo feature. This refers to the cold cathode lighting ring around the headlight itself, giving you some very cool accent lighting that’s sure to be noticed both day and night. The lights do include dual element H13 bulbs for your high and low beams and all the necessary wiring to get these headlights working properly. Since you do have to remove your front bumper to get these headlights installed, the installation may take you an hour or so from start to finish. If you ever run into any problems during this install, you can always reference the very detailed install video located on this page. If the headlights in your S197 are looking a little rough, and you want to add some clean chrome styling, with the added cool factor of some halo accent lighting, you’ll definitely want to check out a set of headlights for your ride.

Sleek Styling. These Axial Chrome Mustang Headlights have a clean modern design that flow nicely into the lines of the S197 Mustangs.

Improves Visibility. Now you can improve your night visibility just by replacing your old weathered and worn out stock headlights with a brand new set of crystal clear headlights from AmericanMuscle. The Halo uses state of the art Cold Cathode Lighting "CCFL" for short to give an exotic flair to your mustang that sets it apart from the rest of the herd.

DOT Approved. Equipped with dual element H13 bulbs for high/low beams this pair of Mustang Headlights are DOT (Department of Transportation) approved for legal street use under compliance # QR1200108.

Application. These Axial Chrome Mustang Headlights with CCFL Halos are designed to fit the 2005 to 2009 V6, GT, and Bullitt Mustangs.

Bulb application. These Axial Headlights include dual element H13 bulbs for high/low beams. AmericanMuscle recommends high quality H13 replacement bulbs from Raxiom and Sylvania. See the drop down menu option above to select a new set of bulbs to go with your new headlights.

Technical Note. Not intended for use with vehicles equipped with Daytime Running Lights.

#1). Do these fit a 2008 GT California Special? #2). Will I be able to hook these up in my system replacing my HID lights? The stock HID lights keep failing and to purchase a single new HID headlight it will cost at least $1200. plus labor, though I would probably do it myself, since I have taken them out several times replacing the bulbs, ballasts and Wiring harness. What I want to do is totally bypass the current HID wiring (since I think the problem is in the wiring). Thanks for any help you can give me!

        • This will work with a California special. Our headlights will tie into the vehicle's current wiring so this may not resolve your issue if you believe the problem is from the wiring.

Do the headlights need to be resealed with silicone or are the good to go out of the box?

        • The Chrome Headlights - CCFL Halo (05-09 GT, V6) will be ready to install right out of the box. If you want to seal it with silicone for extra protection you always have that option to make sure no condensation gets inside!

do HID kits fit? My car is equipped with an HID kit, does it fit in with this head light kit? as in is it the stock bulb plug?

        • It will fit, my HID kit worked in these headlamps, but was slightly too big on the locking mechanism. I had to shave down the sides for the bulb holder to lock just right.

Will these fit my 07 gt500? If not, do you guys carry a set of halo style that will?

        • The Axial Chrome Headlights will fit the GT and V6 models, but will not fit the GT500 due to the revised bumper/headlights installed on these models. At this time we do not offer any headlight housings for the GT500.

when installed cant get headlight adjustment correct, beam is to low, backed in and backed out adjustment every way possible still no luck. what would cause this ??? cant see very well at night at this point, Going thought the whole process again but removing them and installing the OEM housings back in. Disappointing with all the work needed to remove and install. what gives? Are there issues with the adjustment piece not mentioned anywhere ? Love the look just want them to work properly, please advise

        • There could be an issue with the bulbs not sitting right inside the housing. You can try to reinstall the bulbs and see if that will help with the adjustment making. It could be a faulty adjuster as well.

Perfect refresh for the front end

These chrome headlights really upgrade the look of the front end. I also added the chrome turn signals and I new grill with halo fog lights. What a difference it makes. Really improved the night time lighting for driving. And sets off the front end during the day. Highly recommend. I did have a body shop do the install. As said before relocated the horn. Also ordered the harness cable and the new light switch since I didn’t have fog lights before. Everything fit well. I have an 09 Stang. People take notice. Shop install was $275.

The lights look great but even upgrading the bulbs before install still not that bright. Easy to adjust and install removing bumper not that bad.

            Awesome Lights

Very easy install. I did one side at a time and followed the directions. I did not have to remover the bumper, just loosen it up and remove some nuts so I could pull it out to open up a space to remove the old light and install the new one. I put a towel on the bumper so it and the headlight would not get any scratches when removing the old and putting in the new headlight. I put a sheet of cardboard 5 ft in front of the car and made alignment marks on it where my stock lights were shinning on high and low beam, before removing them. The new headlights installed in the same spot as the old ones and the alignment was right on the marks on the cardboard, of the old ones. I did take the car to an alignment shop to have them checked and they were perfect. I powered the halo per the instructions to the side marker light and on mine the middle wire of the light harness was the hot wire and the black went to black. I used a continuity light to find that the middle wire of the harness was the hot one. I stuck the ballast for the halo on the back side of the headlight housing using the two sided tape that is on the ballast. The Halo comes on when you turn on the marker (or parking lights) and gives your Mustang awesome looking daytime running lights. The install was fun and gave me a lot of good feelings as I was doing it.

Install was easy, just remember to buy a few extra push clips to reinstall the wheel well covers. The old ones break when taking them out. Great product, Great look! Love the halos.

            Love them!

I'm constantly getting compliments on these headlights. Driving with the parking lights on only turns on the Halos, which is what I drive usually until it gets too dark out. Looks badass. Adds a nice modern touch while still maintaining a nice chrome retro finish. You can still see the Halos when you fully turn on the headlights/ stock halogens.

            Amazing headlights!

These are a great addition to the front of the car and make my V6 look a lot more aggressive and mean. You do have to take the whole front end of the car off to install, but it's well worth the work. Mine came with the standard yellow lights which actually accent the halo lights very nicely at night, not to mention they're a lot brighter than the stock headlights. Couldn't be happier!
