Pre-calibrate 76mm MAF. The factory MAF is only 55mm and flows a wimpy 550 cfm, where the included C&L MAF is a much larger 76mm and flows nearly 800cfm to help produce more power, it comes pre-calibrated for use with 19lb, 24lb or 30lb fuel injectors saving you time, money and frustration. Rechargeable High Flow Filter. Included with your C&L Cold Air Kit is a high-flow, reusable, rechargeable filter. That means no more spending money on OEM paper filters that waste money and horsepower. Just clean your C&L filter, re-oil it, and put it back on to save money and enjoy better performance in one shot.

Easy Installation. C&L Performance Cold Air Intake kits are designed to install with just basic hand tools. No extra modifications or special tools are required for an easy 1 hour installation.

Will this chip be able to clear my check engine codes? Ive got a 95 mustang gt 5.0. THe smog pump and EGR valve has been removed. These have triggered the check engine codes, 311,314, and 332. Would this chip be able to clear these so they dont casue my check engine light to be on all the time?

brennan95

  • The chip can be programmed to eliminate the codes with the modifications you've listed. However, if another code pops up, you'll need to have the code read to determine what it is. The chip can not read or clear codes, but simply allows us to program them out of the calibration. Hope this helps!

Need a retune? My 98 mustang GT had this chip installed and it ran great. Decided I wanted a more aggressive sound. Kept the O/R x but removed the Flowmasters and tailpipes so its straight pipes dumped before axles. Lost low end torque. Is this because of exhaust setup itself or more so because it needs a retuned chip?

Cowboyjared

  • Removing the mufflers from your vehicle will not require a retune. The vehicles torque is partly based on the amount of back pressure and the scavenging your exhuast can produce. By reducing the amount of back pressure, you essentially lose torque, by reducing the ability to properly fill the engine's combustion chamber. For optimum torque, you may want to consider reinstalling your flowmasters.

Will I be dead in the water while I wait? While im waiting on my chip to return am i going to be able to drive my car and use it or will I have to let it sit and wait on my returned package?

topputback

  • That would really depend on what modifications you have done to your Mustang. Please contact our Bama Specialists to go over exactly what mods you have so they can answer this question with complete accuracy.

Thinking about a Chip Hey guys i have a 94 mustang gt 5.0 and im wanting to make future mods to my car and i already have flowmasters not sure what kind and just an old school k&n airfilter on it and honestly i THINK thats just it. If i were to buy this i have to send it in if i want to add more stuff right? how long would that take? and also do they tune it to what i have before i get it? and how do i switch between tunes example street performance... thanks!

94GTVert

  • At time of purchase, the chip will be shipped with a Street, Performance, and Race tune installed. These can be easily switched between using the supplied rotary switch and cable. In the future, you will need to send the chip back to us for any new tunes. Shipping time (from you to our facility) usually has the biggest effect on turn around time. Once we receive your chip and tune info, the chip will ship out within 2-3 business days. Hope this helps!

Before I buy this would they be able to tell me if my car will run to lean? My motor is pretty modified and I might have to run a bigger fuel system. Could someone tell me before I order it please?

With a chip like this, is a tuner needed ?

bbelli

  • You can only use one or the other at a time - they both tune the Mustang, just have different ways of connecting to your ECU. If you were to purchase this chip, the tuner would not be needed. Hope this helps!

    AWESOME CHIP!

I bought this chip for my 1995 5.0 and instalation of the chip was easy as hell. The thing that was sort of difficult was the cigarette lighter Bezel. I had to bore the hole where the cigarette lighter went. so the top and bottom would clamp tight and the switch would stay on. That was a pain in the a** because you have to unbolt the whole center console and lift it off. All in all once i fired her up, holy crap she had a ton more power and ran alot amother too. Review from Bama 4-Bank Eliminator Chip w/ 3 Custom Tunes (94-98 GT)

must have upgrade, instillation was rough

The SCT 4-Bank Eliminator Chip is a must have for mustangs with performance upgrades. Noticeable difference when installed. Now that the chip is actually installed I am very happy with it. The free custom tunes that come with the chip is awesome. All that being said, the instillation was brutal. I read and reread the instructions to make sure that I had it down. Very small area to work around the ECU. My ECU had mainly grease and some circuit board clear glue that the whole circuit board is dipped in. Removing this was pretty east but time consuming. The main thing that I did not understand when installing the chip was that changes could not be made with the engine running. The engine has to be turned off and then the selector switch can be changed. I was installing my chip, starting the car in factory setting and trying to change to the street. I thought that I had not cleaned enough of the contacts so I tried three times to clean and reinstall. Then I remembered reading to start the car in the desired setting and it worked. Another bad thing is that the chip is not flush with the ECU when installed. This was a problem because my chip actually was smashing into the top of the ECU securing bracket. My initial though was to try and drill out a place in the bracket. For me this was next to impossible without trying to remove the bracket. Neither was an option for me. I could not find a halfway easy way to do either. I ended up putting had foam on either side of the ship so when I wedged the ECU back in place, the chip wasn't being smashed. I don't remember reading any other ideas on how to solve this issue. I really didn't enjoy the instal but when it's all said and done I would do it again.

    Get this Chip

I was some what skeptical of this chip as the tuners do not actually get to see and play with you car. The install was very simple all you had to do was read and follow the simple instructions that came with. After the install I could feel the difference! I took it on a dyno run to see the numbers it put down and it went from 205wrhp 279tq to an impressive 243wrhp and 290tq!

    Love It

So i bought this about a month ago, waited a week for them to tune it and then it got here in three days, love how quickly it got here, love the tunes and the switch. for the price you really can't beat it! Only problem i had was they wrote my tunes down in the wrong spot, no big deal ran a tank in each tune and i figured it out. I would recommend this to everyone!

    Awesome product

Put it on my 96 Mustang GT and immediately set it for the performance tune, I can really feel the difference when I punch it in second or third gear. The economy setting only raised my mpg by 4 or 5, but still an awesome product.

Review from Bama 4-Bank Eliminator Chip w/ 3 Custom Tunes (94-98 GT)

    dissapointment

After reading all the "bad @$$" reviews left by other people, I decided i would try this chip out. Well i ordered it, everything went exceptionally smooth, and installed it into the back of my computer. I guess i didnt read the instructions right and left off a little bit of required sanding of the terminals, so i had to take the chip back out of my computer and do it all again. After i installed and started my engine on the 93 octane tune, i noticed my engine RPM stayed up a little more than stock during the duration of my shifts. Other than that, i havent really noticed a significant difference in power or torque. I often times switch from 93 performance tune to stock tune to try to see a difference, but i just cant see one. I say give it a try...if it works for ya then it works for ya, but it didnt work for me.

    MUST HAVE

No matter what you do to a car it will never perform to its full potential without a custom tune. Not only does this particular product allow you to have multiple tunes but it provides you with the ability to change them without plugging in a piece of equipment and then flashing a new tune into the car. Also, The tuning guys at BAMA tuning are very helpful and are easy to get a hold of. My Stang has noticeably more power and with a full out race tune sounds amazing.

    SCT 4-Bank BAMA tune

This is a AWESOME product. It is more than advertised. I feel sorry for the 5 speed Stangs that only get one tune. This far exceeded my expectation of a simple tune. A absolute must for the AODE Stangs. Install is straight forward and easy. Just make sure you clean the terminals well. Now for the tune...no a tune by itself will not give you 100hp and turn 11 sec. 1/4 mile. But it will compliment your upgrades and get the most of them. Horsepower is a solid 10% upgrade. On to the best part...BAMA says it helps AODE shift points and firmness and it does. What it doesn't tell you is how well it does that...VERY well. Also the AODE down shifts automatically as you slow down..how cool is that. It's as though you put a aftermarket shift kit in the AODE. Again this is a must for AODE Stangs. Thanks You BAMA.

    SCT chip

I learned something through this chip thing. I never talked to a rep at American Muscle before this. That person was very helpful and professional with just enough everyday person mixed in. The chip. i have quite a few bolt ons. this one is soooooo cool. it took about 45 min. to install. the prep on the contacts was easier than what the vid leads on. the rubber protectant on the contacts came off very easy. and the small greenie weenie that came with it to get the contacts to a good conectivity point was all that was needed. The outcome. Wow! I burned up my tires in 1, 2 and 3. I let off before 4th. highway. 3rd is useful now. will put you back in the seat going around cars. and the sound when you let off is amazing. lots of backpressure (blop blop blop blop). Very cool

Review from Bama 4-Bank Eliminator Chip w/ 3 Custom Tunes (94-98 GT)

    Its Alive!

As a guy who has always owned fox body stangs prior to my current 95 GT I was disappointed with the 95's stock computer performance. It clearly left a lot of horse power on the table with all of its nonsensical tip in issues, torque limiter, spark issues, and oblivious to mods programming. I debated heavily between putting an A9L processor in my car, or getting my own programmer, or AM's SCT chip. I chose the chip for these 3 reasons: 1) the A9L option would require additional elec fan wiring and a BAP sensor, 2) a self-programmer would require me learning a new language -I don't have the time, and 3) AM has a good rep in the programming world and they offer tunes for life. I cannot see how one can overlook AM's deal. After following all instructions carefully, I started up my car with the SCT chip and drove it for the first time. My first thought was, "ITS ALIVE!" The chip woke my car right up! All my mods seemed to come to life and the car pulls like my old fox body. The tires also chirp now in 1st-3rd no problem. Thank you AM for waking my tired T4MO computer up. You guys and BAMA did a great job. I have nothing bad to say.

I had my car for over 10 years with mods, long tubes , explorer intake 65m throttle. 24 lb injectors, full exhaust. most bolt ons , I drove this car for a long time , and never felt right, someone told me about this chip, so I talked to Bama tuning, they are a great help! I bought it, put it in the car, runs really strong, feels like a new animal. I had to get a adjustment made to the tune, I called Bama explained the issue, and they told me to send it in and they made the new tune!! AWESOME!

Review from Bama 4-Bank Eliminator Chip w/ 3 Custom Tunes (94-98 GT)

    SCT wakes up the car

Ordereing was easy excellent customer service very professional techs in addition installation can be tedious just take your time removing the ECU and clean the edge connector exactly as specified in the instruction sheet ex. I used a toothpick, 800 grit sandpaper and an alcohol pad. After reassembling the metal case placed gorilla take over the chip and another over the cable as to not pull it while re-positioning and installing back into the tight space back up into the kick panel even wrote the date and glued the personalized bama plaque to it just in case my mechanic would have to revert to it one day. The main thing is to make sure its all secure and wire tie the 3 connectors back nice and neat didnt see any point in replacing the bracket it seemed senceless in case of having to resend the chip back in to retune again and also its may be just a security theft prevention but its a 94. Most importantly is you need to turn the dial on the preferred setting when the cars off than start again using only the correct fuel octane at first the idle did search at times but after switching and running it a few times have seem to solve the problem it now launches twice as fast and pulls like it just had a major tune up keep it in perfromance mostly all the time but switch to race if I feel like getting on it in case the other guys would like to know (and most do) the car has 373 gears,BBK CAI,BBK o/r h pipe, mac exhaust,UD pullies, steeda tri ax short shifter,it also runs a cool 180 instead of 205. Just expect the gas consumption may differ but its well worth the better ride thanks AM.

Review from Bama 4-Bank Eliminator Chip w/ 3 Custom Tunes (94-98 GT)

    Worth the effort

Great product. I had some air/fuel issues with the C&L Cold air kit installed at higher RPM's, and after I put this chip in the car ran nice and smooth again. Good seat of the pants power gains. In my 94 GT, I had the cold air, and a Borla Cat back put on, and changed the gears to 3.55. The chip in performance mode(and race too) made a notable difference in how hard the car pulled up to 60, but really was notable above that- 4th gear pulls nice and hard now. Installation was tedious, but not hard. Takes a couple hours, most of which is spent cleaning the contacts on your computer. I did not buy the switch bezel, I just put the selector cable up behind the glove box, and then over the top of the back of it and inside the glove box. Pulled up the extra slack, fastened it with a strip of tape and then wrapped up the extra in a nice coil and tied it so it lays nicely inside the glove box. Don't plan on changing the setting much, and when I do want to i can just open the glove box and switch it. Overall, installation was pretty easy and for the price you get good results, especially if you have some quirks with other mods- the tunes will smooth it all back out again and give you more power to boot.

Installed long tube headers and didnt get much of a power difference. The car was having hanging rpms. And needed a new tune. Entered my info, did the install myself took about an hour. Instructions were very helpful. After installing the chip i noticed major power gains in the higher rpm range. No more hanging rpms. Car runs like a monster. Didnt even use race tune yet.
