    Hey, guys, Stephanie with americanmuscle.com, here with an overview and install of the C&L calibrated street performance mass air flow that's available for all 2015 and newer GT Mustangs. In this video, we're going to be talking about what exactly this piece is and how it can help your GT, and of course, we're going to go over the install, as well. I'll get into more detail later, but the install for this is a simple one. It's a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. The C&L calibrated street performance MAF is gonna be for those S550 GT owners out there, that are looking for a fast, easy way to pick up a few horsepower without voiding their warranty. We all know that a tune is a very easy and effective way to pick up horsepower on any Mustang, but the dilemma is always centered around the warranty. This MAF does open up some restrictions around air flow in the factory programming of the ECU like a tune would, but it most certainly is not going to void your warranty, and I'll explain how. So, this is a MAF sensor replacement that has a calibration on it. Now, this is a custom calibration that has very specific and tight spec ranges, especially at points close to idle and wide-open throttle, and each sensor is going to include calibration seats that will detail the specs, just so you guys know. The difference between this custom calibration and the custom calibration that you'd receive with a tune is that this calibration doesn't override what's already on the ECU. An aftermarket tune totally overrides all factory calibration, which is why it voids your warranty. This calibration, on the other hand, simply provides the ECU with a wider range to read airflow, and moves the existing sensor's ability to read the range of airflow, which is how you're going to see throttle response improvements, gas mileage improvements, and even some small horsepower gains. You're specifically going to see improvements from 2,000 rpm to red line. And, this can be paired with a stock air box or an aftermarket one, so if you already have an aftermarket cold air intake, you don't have to worry about that. Another thing that I wanted to point out about this sensor is that it is a direct plug-and-play replacement. This just replaces your factory mass air flow, which is going to make the install, if you even want to call it that, beyond simple. When it comes to price, you can expect to pay right around the $300 mark for this MAF. Now, it's hard to compare this price to anything else since this is a unique product, but again, the highlight here is that this isn't going to void your warranty, but it is going to open up some similar benefits to you like a tune would. So, this offers a good workaround if you're looking to improve performance and keep your warranty on your new car. As far as the install goes, I said this earlier, but it doesn't get much easier here. If I have to even rate this, it's a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter, and it installs in less than 15 minutes. Since this is a direct replacement, all you have to do is unplug your factory MAF and plug the new one in, and the install is complete. Wrapping things up here with the C&L calibrated street performance mass air flow, this is a direct MAF replacement that comes with a custom calibration that's going to open up the reading range of the factory ECU's settings. This will provide you with some benefits that are similar to a custom tune, but it isn't going to void your warranty, which makes it a perfect option for those of you out there looking for performance gains, but that still want to hang on to that warranty.     Calibrated for Performance. Did you know that your Mustangs factory Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor could be robbing you of power? Well, it's true. Put simply a MAF Sensor is designed to read the volume of air flowing into your engine. The problem is that the factory MAF Sensor is limited to how much air it can actually read and will "peg" due to increased air flow. However, C&L's MAF Sensor has been custom calibrated and scaled to accurately read the higher volume of air created by aftermarket bolt-on's like cold air intakes and force inducted setups to ensure peak performance.

    Performance and Power. With an unmistakable improvement in airflow, when compared to the stock sensor, you can expect to see increases of 10 to 18 horsepower with an increase in performance starting at 2000 rpm's all the way to red line.         • While this does not require a tune since it is a direct replacement it would be beneficial for a tune revision following installation.

            Regret

            It may have opened the throttle faster but I could tell , and it seemed like it cut my mustang's power, it also cut my fuel mileage by 2 miles to the gallon, I have a cold air intake, and a throttle body spacer, and a performance tune on my car , I install this item and it seemed like it was running in stock. It not worth the money

            Product worked but they can't send a tune for it

            The product worked but is a waste of money if you plan on getting a tune. After getting my cold air intake i asked for a tune for the CandL sensor just to find out they aren't able to tune it. Then was sent tunes for but was instructed to reinstall my OEM sensor since they can tune for that( I also had bought a bama tuner). So unless you want to waste the money to use it as a paper weight don't get it. They should not advise for a tune for something they can't tune or at least say that they can't tune it somewhere in product description.

            Incorrect Readings/rough cold start up

            Very Very disappointed in this product, I was really excited when I ordered had it delivered next day. I received it opened it no instructions I know it is just two screws plug and play, did come with calibration paper first consern was the calibration paper said 11-14 5.0, I have a 16. So I called American muscle talked to Bama tech they said was the right part it will be okay. I disconnected the battery and installed the new MAF sensor reconnect battery immediately upon start up it took a little longer than usual to start when it finally started black smoke came out of tail pipes and very rough idle, I installed this on a cold motor let it run till it warmed up to operating temp, still idle rough rpm kinda jumping up and down, then I started looking through my digital gauges to find out my air inlet temp was reading -16 degrees F. That was way off being that it was 92 degrees in Spring, Texas that day. I called American Muscle again talked to Bama tune techs, he just told me that’s in the calibration it should be okay. After car warm up I drove it around was kinda jumpy between shifts and did smell rich, another odd thing everything did calibrate but AC would not blow cold, I was guessing it was because the inlet temp was at -16 and it was tripping some relay. To make a long story short I reinstalled the stock MAF and everything went back to normal. I would not recommend this expensive junk to anyone and American muscle really needs to get techs that know a little more about the products they sell. I will be returning this please stay with stock MAF my .02 cents

            Incorrect readings

            I installed the maf sensor little less then a week ago and it’s saying my intake temp is always sitting around -10~ Fahrenheit which in the state I’m in is extremely incorrect, I don’t know what the issue may be; Worried

            C L MAF Sensor

            Keeping my warranty was very important to me so I decided to go with the CandL MAF sensor. Right out of the box it appears to be of good quaility and fits perfectly as stock. It only took 5 minutes to intsall. I only gave it 4 out of 5 stars because of the price. AM only offers 2 options and the reviews seemed better and this one was a few bucks less expensive too. I’ll post a follow up after driving it for a few days.

            Quick and easy

            Although I put on a steeda CAI at the same time, it's hard for me to precisely give an opinion. But, it does open up the limits from the stock MAF. Every mustang I've bought has always gotten one if three.
