Justin from AmericanMuscle.com here, checking out a couple of different lower grille insert options from SHR for either the 07 and 09 Shelby and California Special, or the 05-09 Mustang GT. These inserts are for folks who aren’t a fan of that large opening in the bottom portion of your stock bumper, and are looking for an affordable solution that perfectly matches your stock upper grille in regard to both fit and finish. The grille for the 05-09 Mustang GT comes as a set of two and fits perfectly in the center portion of your lower bumper. And for the Shelby and California Special you get a single insert. Both of these options are made from durable ABS plastic, and actually add a little bit of protection to your radiator, or even an aftermarket inner cooler from rocks or other road debris. As for the finish, these grilles feature the same honeycomb pattern used by your factory upper grille, or in our case, our Eleanor style grille. These grilles fit perfectly into the stock location and install easily in a matter of seconds. As you can see it pops into place without the use of any tools whatsoever. So if you’re not a fan of those huge voids found in your factory lower bumper, then you’ll definitely want to check out these affordable lower grille inserts from SHR.

    So worth it

    I've had the car 2 months now, and every time I looked at the front end I always disliked the huge gap in the lower bumper, and the exposed radiator. I got this part in the mail today, install was literally 30 seconds, and now I'm wondering why I didn't do this on DAY 1. There are many parts that make our cars look good, but I feel this one is almost a necessity to make the car look complete. Why it wasn't an OEM part I will never know.

    SHR California Special & Shelby GT Lower Grille Insert (07-09)

    This product arrived on time and in good condition. It only took a few minutes to install using the clear instrutions. It looks great on the car I do not know why ford did not include this on the California Special cars to begin with.

    nice addition

    Nice addition that completes the front. Easy install. Reach inside and pull the top tab down (towards the ground) and the bottom tab up (toward the hood). My tabs required a little shimmying, but eventually popped out. A flat head screw driver helps prying open the side panels once the tabs are popped out.

    A "MUST OWN" for Shelby GT and GT/CS owners

    My wife purchased this for me for Christmas to fill in what she calls an "Ugly Hole" on my California Special. She is not a mustang history buff and does not understand the historical reference of the "Ugly Hole", however, I have had my eye on this product for a while. It is a perfect match to the stock grill and adds some much needed protection to the radiator. The installation took about 45 seconds. FOMOCO should have included this as an option for the Shelby GT and the GT/CS. Thanks go to American Muscle and Silver Horse Racing for this great product!!!

    Finishing touch

    Its about time!

    I had my boyfriend put this on my car today and it looks great. Ford should have put this on from the start! It went on easy without any tools. Thank you for offering this, I have been looking for one since I bought my car in 2007.

    Grill inserts

    The product worked just as the instructions said it would, the clips were harder to work off than I thought they would , but after some extended effort they finally came undone and the grill just clicked back into place. Looks great and the front now looks complete.

    Great product!

    It's a great product and makes my car look more aggressive, the only thing is that i feel the way it is inserted looks somewhat flimsy and its very costly for it being a small plastic insert.

    Great fit. Protect your gtcs condenser!

    Got this to protect my dinged up condenser and add a nice touch at the save time. The install takes 5 minutes and it matched great.

    Great Look and Fit

    These lower grill inserts should have been standard equipment. They look great, fit well, and easy install. They offer great protection to the lower half of the AC grill.

    Quality piece definitely needed to fill the gap

    Best thing I could of bought with my new GT/CS bumper... Definitely fills in the big hole in the bumper between the two inserts that come with the bumper.

    Stylish

    I was looking for a lower grill to improve the look of the lower bumper. I didn't like seeing the stock radiator. Install is easy, looks fantastic, could be less expensive but I love it!

    The Shelby GT lower grille isn't made anymore, and is pricey if you can find one. This does match the two pieces it is surrounded by, and will do the job for now,

    Lower CS grill insert

    Looks great, and easy to install once you figure out how to remove the two side inserts already on the car. A little pricey for a piece of plastic but I'm sure it would be more if it were a dealership item.

    Factory perfect

    This grille was an easy install. It looks like it should have been include from the factory to protect the radiator and AC condenser. If you own a GT/CS or Shelby you definately need this upgrade, period! Love the products and discounts you provided. Thanks American Muscle
