    Review & Installation Video

    Review & Install Video

Hey, guys, Stephanie with here with my review and an install of the Eibach Pro-Street coilover kit available for the 2015 and newer GT EcoBoost and V6 Mustang. In this video, we're going to go over a few different topics when it comes to this coilover kit but mostly we're going to talk about the performance abilities of the kit and the install. I'm going to cover the install in more detail later, but I'll tell you right now that this install is straightforward but it is a little bit of work. So I'm going to call it a two out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. The Eibach Pro-Street coilover is going to be for the Mustang owners out there that are looking for a coilover kit that takes care of the shock and strut dampening but that offers one of the widest ranges of height adjustment for the S550, meaning that you can get the car a touch lower than other kits will allow you to. Generally speaking, coilovers offer a way to get away from the fixed drop of a lowering spring. Typically a lowering spring is going to be best for someone that's looking to simply lower their car, but coilovers are for people that want more from their setup. If we look at height adjustability that the kit offers, which I think is one of the biggest pluses when choosing a coilover setup as opposed to an aftermarket static spring setup, you're going to see that the kit offers a drop of anywhere between one to two and a half inches for the front of the car and one to two inches for the rear. This means you can go anywhere from just below stock height to two and a half inches lower and anywhere in between depending on what you're looking for here. We know from lowering springs for the S550 that a two and a half inch drop on these cars is significant. So you do have a lot of room here to get your ride height how you'd like it. This kit is height adjustable only which means that it doesn't allow you to adjust the dampening of the shocks and struts, but Eibach has already tuned this kit for you. They take the guess work out of setting the kit up by making sure that the tuning of the shocks and struts works well with the spring rates. The spring rates are matched to the dampening which is going to improve the performance of the kit. The kit is going to include two front strut assemblies, two rear shocks, two rear springs and your adjustment tools. The adjustment tools are going to be the way to adjust your coilover height which you can see the threads right here in the axle strut body. Having a fully threaded body is better than your other types of coilovers because they're going to be able to give you the most performance benefits. Full body coilovers like these ones allow for spring height and pre-load to easily be adjusted. When we start to look at price, you're going to notice that this kit is in the middle of the pack price-wise when you compare it to all of the other offerings that are currently out there coming in with a price tag close to but still under the $1400 mark. Eibach is a big name in the suspension community and so I'm not surprised to find a price tag here that isn't the most budget-friendly option. This is a bolt on kit, and it'll work for both coupe and convertible models. There's no permanent modification necessary but there is a fair amount of work involved with the install, a few hours or so, so I'll call this a two out of three wrenches on our scale when we look at overall difficulty. The work is straightforward. Ultimately, you're going to need a decent socket set and a jack and jack stands or a lift to get the job done. And again, it's nothing too hard but just a little time-consuming. You have to break down everything like your calipers and rotors and get your old shock and strut and spring setup out, and you've got to get your new setup in. And don't forget, you might need a little extra time to get the ride height dialed into your liking. You may end up having to do a few adjustments to get your c

Immediate Performance Boost. Whether it's better turning on the road or a better time on the track you'll see immediate improvement in performance by upgrading to an Eibach Pro-Street-S Coilover setup. The Eibach Pro-Street-S Coilover Kit is tuned optimally to provide the aggressive performance you want. The spring rates are perfectly matched to the performance dampening of the high-tech coil-over shocks resulting in a significantly more precise turn-in response and improved handling. You'll also experience enhanced cornering grip-in.

Adjustable Ride Height. Want to go lower with your Ford Mustang? The Eibach Pro-Street-S Coil-Over Kit allows you to lower your Mustang's stance up to 2.5" in the front and 2" in the rear for improved cornering and a muscular look on the street.

Installation. The Eibach Pro-Street-S Coil-Over Kit is ride height adjustable. It will take approximately two hours to install the front and another two to install the rear.

Application. This Eibach Pro-Street Coil Over Kit is designed for use on 2015-2019 Mustangs that is not equipped with the MagneRide Suspension.

What is the comfort level of this kit compared to stock?

    • The Eibach Pro-Street-S Coilover Kit will have stiffer springs so ride quality will slightly degrade, compared to OE, and handling will increase. OE front spring rate is 182Lb/In whereas these use a 250Lb/In spring in the front. The rear spring rate will be variable due to the springs rate, helping to keep the rear compliant but not jarring on bumps. Rear OE spring rate is 668 Lb/In, and the Eibach will be 485-857 lB/In.

Is there a certain set of caster/camber plates that work best with this coilover set up? Also, are they needed? What are the effects if they aren’t used? Thank you in advance.

    • The Eibach Pro-Street-S Coilover Kit will work with any of our caster camber plates. We recommend the Maximum Motorsports Caster Camber Plates for the best performance and ability to maintain your alignment. Without caster camber plates, you may not be able to achieve the desired alignment specs.

      Must have!!!

Eibach really did such an incredible job on these coil overs couldn't be happier. The quality of these coil overs was what won me over. Once installed I felt a difference much more sport like feel on the road. Planted on the ground and the sharp turns really give you the confidence to push your car just abit more.
