How To Install A Ford Headlight Switch On Your 1994-2004 Mustang GT

Installation Time

10 minutes

Tools Required
  • Socket wrench
  • 7 mm socket
  • 8 mm socket
  • Regular screwdriver
  • Adjustable wrench

STEP 1: 

Unplug the negative side of the battery. Remove the (2) 7mm bezel screws. 


STEP 2: 

Use a regular screwdriver to pop out the headlight switch knob. Pull out on the bezel to remove it. 


STEP 3: 

Remove the (2) 8mm nuts that retain the headlight switch in the car. Press down on the silver button and pull out on the shaft to release it from the headlight knob. 


STEP 4: 

Unplug the headlight switch by pulling out on the two clips. 


STEP 5: 

Compare the old and new headlight switch to make sure they are the same. 


STEP 6: 

Unscrew the plastic nut retaining the mounting bracket and move both to the new headlight switch. Reinstall everything and reconnect the battery cable.
