This engine’s 11.0:1 compression ratio provides exceptional fuel efficiency, something that will surely prove useful on the track. This crate engine comes with improved features designed to maximize performance, including larger intake and exhaust valves, redesigned intake and exhaust camshafts, and stiffer valve springs, which work to keep the valves fully closed at high rpms.
The Ford Performance GEN 2 5.0L Coyote NMRA Sealed Crate Engine’s construction is optimized for excellent track performance. This engine features hypereutectic aluminum pistons and forged connecting rods, driving a sturdy forged steel crankshaft. Its cylinder block is crafted from lightweight aluminum and features cross-bolted, main bearing caps and beefed-up main bearing bulkheads for strength. This engine employs an aluminum cylinder head with a 4-valves/cylinder DOHC configuration. All of these sit atop an aluminum engine block that’s both strong, yet lightweight. Lastly, this engine weighs only 444 pounds.

Installing this engine requires advanced mechanical knowledge and skills, as well as some special tools. This GEN 2 5.0L Coyote NMRA Sealed Crate Engine does not include a vehicle harness, PCM, and alternator. A 409 stainless-steel tubular exhaust manifold is included, but only on the right side. This engine is for use in racing situations only and is illegal for use on public roads.
