I hit a massive bump on the road and now i have a suspension creak on the wheel that hit but not when i turn my wheels, just when i go over bumps. That should be this bushing right? How do i check for a bad bushing.

Do the cars have rear sway bar bushings?

        • Rear sway bars are standard on GT Mustangs and optional on the V6.

I have the SR performance front sway bay installed on my 1998 mustang gt. Will these bushings work with that or are they too small? If they are too small, is there a part # or listing for the bushings I need? Thanks.

        • These 25mm bushings would be too small for the SR Performance front sway bar that would be 35mm. Replacement bushings would need to be for 35mm.

The Maximum Motorsports adjustable front sway bar and adjustable front sway bar endlinks require front sway bar bushings to be purchased separately . We'll these bushings work with that equipment?

        • The OPR Front Sway Bar to Frame Bushings are designed to work with a 1" (25mm) sway bar. The Maximum Motorsports Adjustable Front Sway Bar, item # 400435, ( is a 1.25" sway bar. It will not work properly with these bushings.

Title says it all. The factory bushings fell off of the bar with no assistance from me, these new ones? I had to let them sit in 150 degree water for 10 minutes just to get them loose enough to fit back onto the factory sway bar. I did multiple upgrades at once, but I believe these were helpful to the car as a whole.

I had shacking sway bar due to warn out old bushings and have replaced them with those, so no shake no more. Also need to mention the perfect fitment of those bushings, i just slided them to the spot and thats all.

            Fit issue

Purchased these bushings for my 95 GT Conv as the ad says 94-04 ALL. Received the part and its way small. Come to find out my bar is 30mm but AM doesn't carry the correct part. Was the bar replaced at some point? Nope. Strongly suggest measuring your sway bar before ordering.

            Perfect fit!!!

No muss, no fuss. Recommend some Vaseline or rubber friendly lube to aid in slipping these into the sway bar.

            Easy Install

These were little tricky to put on, just use dish soap or something to help slide them on. Other wise they are great and could tell a difference.

            5 1999 GT - Bohannon

The bushings had slits so they went on easy, even though I had to remove the whole sway bar anyways to replace the end links. if I was just trying to swap these bushings out I wouldn't have had to undo anything except the brackets. a word of warning though. my 99 mustang had two different size brackets for each bushing, one smaller square one inside the other larger. I was having difficulty fitting the bushing in the smaller bracket so I only used the large one to secure it. DONT BE DUMB, DONT DO WHAT I DID. the bushings just got really stretched out and I have to replace them again. luckily they fit in so easy I don't really mind.

5 1999 Cobra - Joe Installation Time: Afternoon

            Like a glove

My old front sway bar bushings was cracked so bad they popped out if the retainer leaving much ti be desired when driving. Tons of chunks and rattles in the front end if my cobra when driving. I decided to pick these up along with some other parts to fix it. They really did the trick. They fit perfectly and solved the issues with the noise and handling that I had. Just be sure to use a little lube to help get them on. These lack the slits, and you have to shimmy them up the entire sway bar.

            great bushing

after all the upgraded suspension work i needed to make sure i had everything taken care of underneath the car. with these upgraded bushing compared to my worn out ones i can see a better response in handling and less vibration. Glad i went with these!
