How to Install Ford Performance Power Pack 2 (15-17 GT) on your Ford Mustang

Installation Time

Tools Required
  • 8 mm ratchet or socket
  • 10 mm ratchet or socket
  • T-27 Hex head bit – hex head bits
  • Flat head screwdriver
  • Optional – Body trim removal tools
  • Optional – plyers to help remove hose clamps
  • Optional - air gun for quicker removal and install of bolts.

BEFORE STARTING MAKE SURE THE VEHICLE IS OFF AND IS IN PARK OR THE E-BRAKE IS ACTIVE TO AVOID ANY INJURIES!


Removal:

1. Loosen the hose clamp on the soft flexible portion of the intake and remove.

2. Remove MAF sensor connector harness from intake.

3. Unbolt the airbox and remove the whole airbox.



4. Remove entire sound symposer tube from intake and firewall, there will be two body panel push pins that will need to be removed. It is easiest to install the symposer delete plug into firewall after you remove the symposer from the fire wall, so perform the installation of the plug at this time.

5. Remove the engine cover which lies on top of the intake manifold, this is held on by 4 rubber tabs, to remove simply pull the unit up to free the gromets.

6. Remove hoses marked by yellow circles from intake.

7. Remove the intake from throttle body.


8. Remove the electrical connector from the throttle body.

9. Remove the 4 bolts from the throttle body and remove throttle body.



1. Install throttle body adaptor, torque the 4 screws to 7 ft. lbs.

2. Install throttle body gasket.


3. Install throttle body, torque the four bolts to 62 lb.in or 7Nm.

4. Attach the throttle body electrical connector.


5. Make two small cuts on the air inlet seal.

6. Attach the air inlet to the intake assembly.


7. Install entire cold air intake assembly into the vehicle, torque the intake retaining bolt to 89 lb. in.

8. Attach hoses to the intake.

9. Attach hose to throttle body.

10. Attach MAF sensor harness.

11. Install gasket and Foam seal in front of the air filter.

12. Install the engine cover.


13. Hook up the supplied USB cord and OBDII connector to the OBDII port located under the driver side dashboard and to your laptop.

14. Follow instructions that are provided with the kit for the install of the tune.

15. Remember with this tune the minimum fuel octane rating that can be used is 91.
