How to Independently Wire Your Fog Lights ('01-'04)

Installation

he process of independently wiring your foglights for the 2001-2004 Mustangs is fairly similar to the process for the 1994-2004 Mustangs. The only difference is the placement of the wiring harnesses has changed. This cannot be done on a convertible at the present time.

Note: In order to do this modification you MUST be able to splice wiring. If you don't feel comfortable in doing this either get professional to assist in installing the wiring, or take it to a professional shop to be done.

1. Take off your shift knob and pull up your shifter bezel. The easiest way to do this is to hook your fingers under your shift boot and pull up. If you have installed a short throw shifter before, you should know how to do this.

Note: To remove the shifter bezel in an automatic Mustang it is easiest to start the car, shift into neutral, then pull up the plastic bezel (it is not connected to the automatic shifter piece). You have limited room to work, but it should be enough. Be sure to shift back into park after pulling the bezel off.

2. The splicing and install is VERY simple from here on out. First disconnect BOTH the positive and negative leads on your battery. Wait two (2) minutes before proceeding any further.
Splice the white/purple wire of the Convertible Harness and the brown wire coming out of the fog-light switch.

3.  This is the convertible harness location. From here on out, just follow the wiring diagram below to get your foglights independently wired.

Now go cruise!
