Description
High-RPM Stability and Valvetrain Protection. The Kelford Cams ACALOY Beehive Valve Spring Kit for the 2015-2023 Mustang EcoBoost is engineered to overcome the limitations of the factory valvetrain when pushing for higher boost levels and increased engine speeds. By providing significantly higher seat pressure and better harmonic resistance than OEM springs, this kit prevents valve float, a dangerous condition where the valves fail to close quickly enough at high RPM. This ensures your 2.3L EcoBoost maintains peak volumetric efficiency and protects your engine from catastrophic piston-to-valve contact during aggressive track sessions or high-output tuning.
Advanced ACALOY Material Science. These springs are manufactured from Kelford’s proprietary ACALOY silicon chrome steel, a high-tensile material designed specifically for the extreme thermal and mechanical stresses of turbocharged applications. ACALOY undergoes a rigorous multi-stage heat treatment and shot-peening process to increase fatigue life and resist sacrificing (losing tension) over time. For the EcoBoost owner, this means a valvetrain that remains consistent and reliable even under the high cylinder pressures generated by upgraded turbochargers and E85 fuel blends.
Beehive Design for Reduced Valvetrain Mass. The Beehive shape of these springs features a unique ovate wire profile and a smaller top diameter. This design is naturally self-dampening, effectively breaking up the harmonic vibrations that can cause spring failure in traditional cylindrical springs. More importantly, the smaller top allows for the use of much smaller, lighter titanium retainers. By reducing the reciprocating mass of the valvetrain, the engine can rev more freely and respond faster to throttle inputs, making it an essential upgrade for any 2015-2023 Mustang EcoBoost equipped with aggressive aftermarket camshafts.
