By connecting the pipes coming from the separate banks, this H-pipe effectively gives you a bigger exhaust system. You benefit from more power and higher torque.

Louder Exhaust. The reason H-pipes were developed in the first place was to eliminate the popping noise that resulted from the dual exhaust pulses produced by the V8 engine as they passed close together through the exhaust system.

Cat-Free Zone. The Kooks Off-Road H-Pipe has done away with the power-sucking catalytic converter. This is perfect for the track or off-road where you need the extra power, but it is not street-legal in California or anywhere CARB compliance is important.
