HOW TO INSTALL A MANUAL SHIFTER BEZEL ON YOUR 1987-1993 MUSTANG

Removal procedure:

Step 1: By twisting counter clockwise remove your shift knob.

Step 2: Using your hands pull up on one corner of the shifter bezel until it unsnaps.

Step 3: Pull up on the remaining corners of the shifter bezel until it is free.

Step 4: slide the shift boot over the shifter, the shifter bezel and boot are connected together.

Step 5: Next you will need to remove the Shifter boot from the bezel. The boot is held to the bezel by 4 Clips. Using a flat head screw driver pry the clips off the bezel.

Step 5 continued: Once removed keep the 4 retaining clips separate.

Step 6: On the old bezel there are 4 clips that will need to be transferred to the new bezel in order for it to snap into place on the center console. With your hands pull the Clips off the bezel. If it is too hard for your hands, use the flat head screwdriver to aid you.

Installation Procedure:

Step 1: Using the 4 clips that you removed off the old bezel install them on the new bezel by pressing them over the tabs.

Step 2: Next you will need to install the shifter boot to the new bezel, Line the boot holes up with the corresponding tabs on the bezel and press the retaining clips over the tabs.

Step 3: With the shifter boot attached to the bezel, place over the shifter and slide the shifter boot down onto the shifter.

Step 4: By pressing down snap the new bezel into the center console one corner at a time.

Step 5: Re-install the shift knob by twisting clockwise.

Step 6: Enjoy new shifter bezel.
